In John 14:6 Jesus declared himself to be three things:
John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life......
These are three important aspects of Jesus the "I AM", the eternal, everlasting, alpha and omega, Son of God (John 8:58). Jesus is much more than only these three things, but these three things are the most important regarding salvation and ministry.
Of these three aspects, the third aspect, the life, is the most important. All are important, but life is the most important. Why is it the most important? Because without life, everything is dead. You can have the way, you have the truth, but if you have no life you are dead. The life is what distinguishes Jesus from any other prophet or teacher who ever lived. Others (Buddha, Muhammad) may have shown the "way", and may have taught the "truth", but did they give life? No, only Jesus can give life, because He is the life. Any religion can teach, but can they minister life? Only the believer in Christ who is filled with the Spirit can minister life to others (John 7:38).
This life is thirst-quenching - The story of the Samaritan woman in John 4 is a story about a woman unsatisfied with human life. She sought to quench her thirst by marriage to many men, which ultimately did not satisfy her. The real problem was not her immorality, the fact she had had 5 husbands and now had a live-in partner - the real problem was her thirst (John 4:13). Jesus sought to satisfy her thirst by offering Himself as the living water to her. Jesus's way is not to tell people they are wrong, condemn them, and teach them how to be better people. Jesus's way is to give people a drink of life, and this life takes care of all the problems. The life, the living water, is of course the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:18). Jesus's goal and the goal of a minister of Christ is not to conform others to a set of laws, rituals or regulations by teachings, instructions and "how to", but to identify their thirst, quench their thirst, make them satisfied, and give them rest by giving them the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 3:6).
This life is eternal, indestructible and unchangeable and conquers anything. To save sinners or to heal the sick, we need to impart life (Rom 8:11), and of course to do so we need to have life giving water in ourselves first (John 7:38, Eph 5:18). Then once we are filled, we may minister the Holy Spirit to a person's spirit, soul or body, resulting in their salvation, deliverance, and healing. The ministry of salvation, deliverance and healing is simply God's life, the Holy Spirit, imparted to the three parts of a persons being - the spirit, soul or body (Rom 8:11). Whether we are preaching from the front of the church, leading the worship in singing or playing musical instruments, or chatting with our friends about Christ, it doesn't matter how eloquent our words, or how nice our music is, or whether we even use the right words or not, it only matters about us receiving, developing and giving God's life, the Holy Spirit, to others. Remark: we must devote the time and effort required to be vessels and channels for the Spirit to operate in and through us, this involves our entire consecration, devotion, study and prayer - often we can be helping others see Christ only as the way and the truth (eg by only teaching or instruction), but not giving people the life.
