Job 4:9-11 King James Version (KJV)

9 By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

11 The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

Job 4:9-11 Lexham English Bible (LEB)
9 By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of his anger they come to an end.10 The roar of the lion and the voice of a lion in its prime,
and the teeth of the young lions are broken.11 The lion is perishing without prey,
and the lion’s whelps are scattered.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

9 God is just and will be vengeful once His mercy is not accepted in the time He has given. People will receive God’s wrath if they don’t turn to Him and receive His grace.

10 God will cause everyone to be humbled one day whether it is now or on judgment day. Everyone will confess God as Lord for too many it will be far too late.

11 Lions have to take much meat each day for food, if they don’t get this food they soon die. God wills one day humble those who choose to not be humbled themselves.

Hi Clark,

Two Scriptures came to mind reading theses verses,, Pslam 91:13 "you will tread on cubs and vipers, you will trample lions and asps" (JPS) and Luke 10:19 "Remember I have given you authority; so that you can trample down snakes and scorpions, indeed all the enemies forces; and you will remain completely unharmed". (JNT, Stern).

Adding to your on point comments, these are also images regarding power and authority, as well as warnings to the arrogant. I am assured by Gods sovereignty and justice as well as warned about his coming wrath. Given the larger context of Job withstanding false accusations, this comfort is all the more poignant.

Thanks for posting this.
