Job 13:9-11 King James Version (KJV)
9 Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?
10 He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
11 Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

Job 13:9-11 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

9 Will it go well when he cross-examines you?
Will you try to trick him as one mortal tricks another?
10 Will he really defend you
if you secretly favor him?
11 Doesn’t his majesty terrify you?
Doesn’t the fear of him fall upon you?

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

9 Apart from God none of us are good enough, we are sinful but thru Jesus are sin is forgiven. There is no fooling God, He knows the truth even when no one else sees it.

10 Job wasn’t perfect but because of His faith he had a right standing with God.

11 God’s power should fill us with many emotions including fear but also joy.

My thoughts..its interesting that some people think they can get away with stuff like doing a bad job or take shortcuts and nobody will notice. But God knows!

He is so excellent and has high standards because he is perfect and Holy. We cannot even come into his prescence with blemishes and spots if offering a sacrifice, But the good news is Jesus offered himself on our behalf...and we are covered by Him, so...while we strive to perfection, we have a helper to make is Holy and acceptable to Him. That is why we can come to him boldly at the throne of grace as Jesus is our high priest.

And so we bring our flaws and imperfections to Jesus to be made whole and Holy. Cos Jesus knew how hard it is to live here on earth in this fallen world, where we are far from perfect.
