The woman was his neighbor and they had a squabble going.
The woman owned a lot of dogs, which had made the child sick.
The woman reminded him of a dog.
The woman was a gentile.

WhatI can not understand is how many who claim to know Jesus don't believe that Jesus still heals.
They believe in the reserection which is a greater miracle but if you mention healing or the gifts of the spirit they think that a devil is within you.
