Jesus Prays for You

Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf. Hebrews 7:25 NLT

Just knowing that a good, godly friend is praying for you—in other words, interceding with God on your behalf—can be a tremendous source of comfort and encouragement, can’t it?

But today’s scripture verse takes that comfort and encouragement to a whole different level when it promises that the best Friend you’ll ever have intercedes for you at all times. Wow!

The apostle Paul wrote of the wonderful truth that Jesus Himself intercedes for you: “Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Romans 8:33-34).

Knowing that Jesus—the King of kings and Lord of lords—actually takes time to stand before God on your behalf can encourage you to stand steadfast in your walk of faith.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am always encouraged when I know that a good friend is praying for me. But knowing that You pray for me gives me absolute assurance that my Father in heaven will give me what I need to persevere in living for You.

What makes it more impactful is that genuine, blood washed, sealed with the Holy Spirit believers have TWO intercessors praying/pleading in their behalf.....

Rom_8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Rom_8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Rom_8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Rom_11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

Heb_7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
