YHVH, the Word/Son, became INCARNATE in the man Christ Jesus. Hebrews 1 tells us the Word/Son is higher then the angels. He is the Creator, The King of all the angels who worship Him. But in Hebrews 2 we learn that Jesus was MADE a little lower than the angels. God was IN HIM reconciling the world to Himself. Fully God yet fully man. This is the word of God.

This is so simple its like something out of primary school. Why does man always over think and over complicate things? God is a role, like an owner of a 747, IE an airline . Jesus is the first officer, the captain. He is responsible for the safe journey of the 500 people on board, he has authority over the 747 and full responsibility for all on board. The Holy spirit is Air traffic control, who guides the arircraft away from bad weather, volcano eruption, closed airports etc. Your welcome. And BTW, if you cant answer WHO God is, then you have a damn serious problem and better get on bended knees and plead for forgiveness. Hint: what is Gods favorite color? If he was roaming the earth today, what car would he choose? Does he enjoy the opera? Would he buy a high speed V8 boat or a three mast schooner? You dont know? Yep, thought as much. I was reading about the creeds formerly posted and thought to myself, this is like legal speak.. It really isn't so hard. I like your analogy Gregory, but I also like the one I used previously elsewhere that God is the Author, Jesus the Publisher and the Spirit as the testator (or some such, I can't remember now!).

The problem of understanding who and what God and Jesus Christ are and their relationship to each other and to us began not long after the Saviour ascended and the apostles were killed off. After breakaway groups from what was effectively the church of Rome, started teaching their own doctrines and creeds, so a council was held in Nicaea in order to align their doctrines. They took a fairly simple concept, as given by Christ Himself (being sent by the Father who is greater than [He] and spun a load of garbage on top of it to give them an appearance of educated men, which no doubt they were, and thus set above the common man, who Jesus was teaching anyway. Because the teachings of Christ had been corrupted, they needed to set something down in stone (or on papyrus) explaining their version of the gospel of Christ and who/what their idea of Christ was. That varied somewhat from the gospel as actually taught by Christ. The religious leaders of the day He waled the earth didn't get it either! Thus the apostasy took a great leap forward.

Over time, inspired men realised that things were wrong and formed their own sects trying to keep more in line with the teachings in the bible, but they still lacked the revelation that was in the church of Christ. Had the gospel been kept pure, there never would have been a church of Rome or any other groups who broke away and there would never have been a council in Nicaea. Nothing there was directed by the spirit, it was a council of man. Ultimately worthless.

Butch you may be to smart for your own good I thank you for the question, and finally I think I understand what you are asking. You have great patience for not spilling the beans of what you think God is.

So here is what you think God is, correct me if I am wrong,,,God is spirit,

Yet the Bible tells us God is Love, and the bible tells us Jesus is God in the flesh, so we must not think we as mere humans can every fully understand what God is, he is above our thinking level. He is our God who can fully understand his way?? not me, I dont understand everything in the bible but I believe everything, I trust God with all my heart might and soul, he is my Lord.

Hi Dave, I wasn't asking you to define the Father. I just wanted to know how you define the word, God. As I said, I understand it as deity or divine.
