Jesus Crucified

Can someone explain this one to me please.

As in Mark 15:25 it states that Jesus was crucified on the third hour, but when you go to Luke 23:44 it says he was crucified on the sixth hour?

Mar 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

Luk 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

I am just busy studying about this on a web site. I thought I had the answer. But I am not too sure now. As John's account is also different.

This is all confusing me a bit, so I will be back later this evening when I have more time to go through this.

Okay, this is what I came up with so far, which I am happy about. But will delve into it more deeper later.

Mark 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. (KJV)

John 19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King! (KJV)

John 19:16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.(KJV)

Matthew, Mark, and Luke used the Hebrew system of time telling, where the day begins at dawn (around 6AM). John used the Roman system, where the day began at midnight. So John was saying that around 6 AM, Pilate spoke to the Jews, and sometime later, Jesus was sent off to be crucified. Mark is more specific, saying that He was crucified at 9 AM (3 hours after dawn).

What have we done with the word of God which we have been listening for years, what else do we need to be told to turn us away from our sinful ways? oh please the Lord is sad about it. Heaven is sad. He even said to the people of Isreal:

Isaiah 1:2-6a

2 Listen to me, heavens! Pay attention to me, earth!
The Lord has said,
"I raised children. I brought them up.
But they have refused to obey me.
3 The ox knows its master.
The donkey knows where its owner feeds it.
But Israel does not know me.
My people do not understand me."
4 They are a sinful nation.
They are loaded down with guilt.
They are people who do nothing but evil.
They are children who are always sinning.
They have deserted the Lord.
They have turned against the Holy One of Israel.
They have turned their backs on him.
5 Israel, why do you want to be beaten all the time?
Why do you always refuse to obey the Lord?
Your head is covered with wounds.
Your whole heart is weak.
6 There isn't a healthy spot on your body
from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head.
There are only wounds, cuts
and open sores.

1) Mar 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

2) Luk 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

1) That's when He was put on the cross.

2) It went dark when He said "It is finished" and physically died.

This is what I believe is meant by those two verses.
