It's Up To You! - December 09, 2006
A really great Bible verse that is often overlooked is, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes." (Mark 9:23)
The reason I like this verse is because I think many people who don't believe in God tend to say such things as, "There is no God. If there was, He would not allow this to happen!" when life does not go their way. I find this ironic because they seem to blame a Being they don't even believe in for not granting the desires of their heart.
Why is it that God is often held accountable for our own lack of belief and faith?
The key word in the above Bible verse is YOU. Meaning, it is up to YOU to believe, and if YOU can believe, then all things are possible to YOU who believe!
It appears to me that some people simply go about their daily lives waiting for God to just dramatically jump in or make that first miraculous move. The sun rises and falls day in and day out, and still they wait for something to change, but it never does.
When will we realize that God's hand is always outstretched to us, but it is we who have refused to take hold?
Make tomorrow a better day; let it be the first day of your new life in Christ.
It is up to YOU.
