Hi, everyone. My name is Hannah, I'm 19-almost-20 years old (my birthday is on the 22nd of this month), and I became a Christian on February 22nd of this year. It's been somewhat tough for me to constantly retain my faith (partly because I used to be an agnostic, and partly because neither of my parents are Christians and I live with them), but I'm trying my hardest to stay faithful, because Jesus has helped me so much in my life that I can't possibly not try to repay Him. Next weekend, I am going on a retreat with a friend and her church's youth group, and I will be baptized there. I can't wait, both for the retreat and for the chance to confirm my faith.

Hmm...that's probably long enough. Plus, I figure that most people will just skim over it anyways, so I'll just end my intro here and now. Howdy, y'all! :)

EDIT: Oh, and I chose the title for this thread just because it popped into my head. Plus, it's something that I ask myself quite often. Just thought I'd offer an explanation for my otherwise-random thread title. ;)

Hannah, welcome to the family of God and welcome to TalkJesus. We're very happy to have you with us.

In the matter of your parents not being believers, you need to know that God is drawing them to himself for sure because he does not want anyone to perish (see 2Peter 3:9). This means that your prayer for them to come to Christ is being heard and acted on in heaven.

Welcome to the forums sister Hannah. I know the Holy Spirit led you here so that you can grow in the Lord and gain wisdom from other believers. Your a babe in Christ [babe=baby, or new in Christ]. I'm confident you will enjoy the site here.

Keep your faith strong sister! There is no better choice than faith in Jesus!

Hey Hannah, Welcome to Talk Jesus. It's good to know you have accepted Jesus as your savior and to know that you're getting baptised soon. Enjoy the fellowship here and happy early birthday. God Bless

Hi Hannah and welcome to TJ.

I really enjoyed reading your testimony and so I did not skim over it. Very interesting to hear how you became a born again Christian. God is amazing indeed. He never ceases to amaze me and the way that He uses me.

This is indeed the best place online for good fellowship and growing in your walk with Jesus.

If you need any help feel free to pm me.

I am happy to hear you are going on a retreat and getting baptised too.

Be sure to read Ephesians 6.10-16 as it tells you how we need to apply the armour of God to protect us from the enemy each day. Just as a soldier does to go into battle. We are in a spiritual battle.

There are so many helpful forums on here too.

Look forward to speaking with you in live chat.

God bless
