Good morning forum and God's peace to you,

I would like to take a few moments to intorduce myself. I am currently 21 and studying philosophy. I enjoy discussing theology and our Lord Christ with others. I am a Roman Catholic and love my faith dearly. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and sharing our walk through life with Christ!

Take care all.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I do ineed love studying about our Lord Christ, and I have found my studies in philosophy to lead to a deeper love of the Scriptures! Philosophy as the study of True Wisdom (not the seductive false type mentioned in the Holy Writ, but the true kind that has God as its object) is enamored with the infinite Wisdom found in the Scripture. I can only hope that everyone here has a love that draws them closer to Christ. Is it not wonderful when you find something that helps you to love our Lord all the more?

Paphnutius: Welcome to TalkJesus. Your nickname is very interesting. I'm curious as to what it means or how it came about.

Well it is the name of a great 4th century saint (around the year 325 was his death) who was an astounding confessor of the faith. This means that he underwent persecution (he had an eye removed and I believe he was hamstrung in one leg) for the sake of Christ's name. He is also well known for being an influential speaker and theologian. I have always admired the stories of such people and try to emulate their courage in standing up for Christ albeit today's persecutions are not typically physical in our society.
