And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Matt.17:16-21

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord? Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. Isaiah 58:4-12

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. Luke 17:5-9

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matt. 23:40

Helps

Studing up on fulfilled prophecy also helps to increase faith.

Give Thanks Continually. Because Jesus did the will of the Father which was also his own will.

Faith is a servant to those who believe and it should be used to help others first and not ones self.

Giving is at the heart of Loving.

That is most of it but not all of it.

If though would be perfect...sell all you have and give it to the poor. Very difficult for most of us to make this sacrifice.

But remember what the Lord said that he desires MERCY more than Sacrifice.:thumbs_up

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
John 15:7

Increase our faith Lord

In Luke 17 of the New Living Translation reads: One day the apostles said to the Lord, "We need more faith; tell us how to get it." "Even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed," the Lord answered, "you could sayto this mulberry tree,' May God uproot you and throw you into the sea,' and it would obey you!

Then Jesus tells them about becoming obedient servants. Now I believe from this passage of scripture ( and it is all one passage or in context) Jesus is answering them. They asked Him to help them get more faith and Jesus says thats not your problem, because even the smallest amount of faith can do very powerful and super-natural things. The problem is not a lack of faith it's too much self. Learn to be an unprofitable servant and die to your selfish desires and get your flesh out of the way of your faith and your faith will do powerful things. Most importantly we are given a measure of faith not to do powerful things but to please God.

Once again, thank you Yeshua for your leadership and guidance.

Jiggyfly, I think you pose a very immediate problem we face in the day to day world. I wonder if it is not only self, but also the way of the world that gets in our way. By this I mean the very concept of "making a living" and "maintaining a household" can monopolize our minds and manipulate that which we deem as most important. I think about Jesus visit with Martha. There, one woman left her daily duties to sit with Christ, the other woman continued in her duties only to complain about the other woman sitting with Christ.

I think that this often can be the case for many of us who tackle the mundane tasks of each day, thus finding less, and less time and energy to study the word of God. The scriptures also reference those who hear the word of God, but "cares, riches, and pleasures of this life" choke the word of God given to them. (Luke 8: 14)

So whereas we may need to rightly identify our significance in life, we may also need to more rightly identify that which God requires of us now. I believe that Yeshua's reference to scripture about selling all that one has, and following Christ, is not to be taken lightly. I can see where this act, is one that many Christians of today would be very reluctant to do for fear of being impoverished, viewed as ridiculous etc. etc. I question if most have enough faith to sell all that they have, to turn from worldly possessions in order to accurately focus on that which we are to receive from God, that does not perish, can not be stolen, and to seek first into His Kingdom as we are instructed.

Sincerely,

CQ

I agree Cranquar, I think many christians would have a problem doing what Jesus commanded. There seems to be more prosperity teachings than the preaching of Christ and Him crucified. I think your statement shows that there is a difference between being a christian and being a disciple of Christ.

Dear Yeshua,

I Love all the post you put up! Praise the Lord he uses you this way.Faith is a powerful tool given as a gift for us to battle the enemy.Faith can move mountains. It is the very power that can bring the enemy to his knees! We can have Victory in jesus. The promises of the Lord are for this day as well as then for he loves us and wants his children blessed in all areas of their lives. He wants whole in health, Blessed in abundance in peace, Spiritual prosperity and Physical prosperity. If we can keep our eyes on the things unseen and not on the things seen for those things unseen are for eternity! Faith is beleaving never douting and trusting completely in God. We need to Let him control our lives and need to stop trying to fix it our selves he knows our needs and He will be there every step of the walk. Thank you once again for this awesome word the Lord has given you! your sister in Christ Jesus! forever:love:

God bless you Yeshua

Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
