John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

O my friends. Lets bask in the glorious promise of Jesus the Son of God. Over the past forty years of being a bond Servant of Christ Jesus, I have attended to many who were ready to leave this world to go home to be with their Savior.

There have been those who had no fear at all. Those Saints had been faithful to study God's Word regularly and to attend a good Gospel preaching Church that preached not only the Gospel and repentance from dead works but taught the whole council of God. They were ready to go.

Others who did not have the background of such a wonderful relationship with their Lord Jesus, did not have that joy of entering into what Jesus had prepared for them. As a result, I often quoted these verses to them and the Holy Spirit did minister to them.

Are you ready this day to move from this life to the next? Scripture says....
James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

O friends, our life could be snuffed out today from a heart attack or other physical trauma. An accident on the highway going to work could happen. A soldier on foreign soil could die from a sniper's bullet. We are not promised another day here. Are you ready"

Lets look at a verse in Revelation....
Revelation 4:2 "And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
4:3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold."

Theologians have argued in favor of several interpretations of these twenty four Elders. Keeping with Christian wording, Elders are not angels or Israel. They are believers in Christ Jesus and are seated where His Throne is in Heaven, more than likely, the New Jerusalem before it comes to the new earth. These are the raptured Saints who will behold the Tribulation period and the saving of Israel by the 144,000.

I point this out because as John see's it, the promise of entering the Kingdom of God is a reality. The rapture is a reality, and to die and go on to be with Jesus is a reality.

O my friends. lets all get more serious about our relationship with Christ Jesus and stimulate our spirituality with consistent Bible study and prayer. Lets take the parable of the 10 virgins as an example....

Matthew 25:1 "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."

This is a very serious parable. Only half of those who wanted to be united with Jesus were ready. In my mind, I believe that the "oil" represents the Holy Spirit which is very active in those who have regular Bible study, devotions, Church attendance, and other fellowship with believers who are ready to meet Jesus the Son of God. Lets be like the five virgins who were ready.

Another under-rated topic. You are on a roll.

Even here on TJ, there are some who believe this current life is the only kingdom of Heaven.
Now while I agree the kingdom of Heaven is in the hearts of Christians here in this current life.
I believe there is a real place... a New Jerusalem, a 3rd heaven, whatever it might be... a place
beyond our imaginings, a place where we will live in eternity.

There are some (usually the same people) who also believe that the lake or fire and punishment
are only temporal. That the evil will be annihilated almost instantly.

I have met yet others who believe this earth is the only hell. There is no need for further punishment past this
place and this life. (what a sad state of existence)

Thank you so much for your reply. You are absolutely right on all counts. It's hard for some uninformed Believers to believe that our Heavenly Father actually has a house that He lives in and operates out of, and where His Throne is. Jesus is there in the New Jerusalem, the Temple is there and in that Temple not made with hands is the Mercy Seat where Jesus when He was resurrected went in as our High Priest and sprinkled His own Blood as the final payment of our sins.

O yes my good friend B-A-C that New Jerusalem will be a wonderful place for us to live forever with Jesus the Son of God. And just think, YHWH of Whom no one has ever seen will be with us as His Children. O praise His Name.

Soul annihilated? I don''t think so. Some think that the fire will just burn those souls up with nothing left but ashes. I don't believe, that the flames touch them. I believe that the flames are so hot that those wicked souls who are in the Lake of fire are so very miserable from the heat that the flames emit that it's like torture. I know I don't like being over heated, I hate it. So will the wicked.

Great talk!!! I often tell my wife that I am ready! She says" hope you are in no hurry" ! I say: "No, but I am still ready"!

Oh yes and, just think, we will have a resurrected body just like his and share in all of his inheritance!

O man, you mean I won't have all this pain, ever? O boy, I can't wait!!

Yep, beats floating around on a white cloud and playing a harp doesn't it?

Some say, " everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to go now(meaning die)".

Not I, I'm ready ( In Jesus Name) to go now. Of course there is always the tendency to look at all the work left to do, but I'm ready to be with God. I'm ready to get my new body and get out of this decaying sin attracting flesh.

O my good friend, YES!! My My, it says in Revelation that we'll be pillars....
Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

This was promised to the Believers in Philadelphia who were so faithful to Jesus. That means for us who remain faithful until the end will live in the Temple of our Lord and not go out. A Pillar is permanent and honorable. There is a great position of honor and service to our God in His Temple just waiting for us to enter into it.

Hey my old friend, lets keep in the fight of faith, it won't be long and we'll make our flight above.

Actually, in the span of time, it is similar to a "blink of an eye". I know that this is a bit off-track from the original thread but I would love to discuss this with you further. Here is something we all can ponder:
John 20:19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"
John 20:26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"

John concludes Chapter 20 with stating there were many other signs that Jesus performed but was not recorded but, what he did tells us was to help us believe. John describes Jesus's mysterious appearance through a locked door. Can you imagine what a "locked" door was in that day ?!.....ours today would pale in comparison! Why does God tell us this? Only a very brief and a bit more detail followed: Don't fear I am not a ghost ( aberration), look at my hands, touch me, let me eat and drink with you....and that is it, with no more discussion, only that elsewhere in scripture God promises us a resurrected body just like that. What was God's intent here?
You know, not once, in all my life, have I ever had a Preacher do a sermon over this, nor any of the other mysteries in scripture like it!
For me, a resurrected body is a gift beyond understanding but, if nothing else, it is is light into our future, along with all of Jesus's inheritance, that we too will be able to transcend the physical and spiritual realms at a whelm. Just imagine, maybe something like the rings of Saturn will be our playground!

Boy, are they in for a rude awakening!

Ok RJ, lets have some fun with this. I feel the topic can fit into this thread because it has to do with our Fathers House and His Son Jesus.... Because the Disciples were so thick headed, not comprehending the full impact of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus had to appear to them in a powerful supernatural way.

Just the idea that Jesus would return to them after three days would have seemed an impossibility. Not only the Disciples, but us as well, need to stop looking at the spiritual undertakings of Almighty Jehovah our Elohim as something strange. To prove His Words of His return after His death, the Disciples were gathered together in a room with the doors shut, some say locked, Jesus appears supernaturally in that room without any entrance. Apparently, He could pass thru the locked door or wall, or just transported supernaturally from one location directly into another.

Some have asked me if when we receive our new spiritual bodies after our resurrection into our next life, and since we will be like Jesus is, will we be able to pass thru wall & doors. I actually doubt it but who am I to know what really will happen on the other side of this temporal life to life everlasting.

Mark 4:35 "And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
4:36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

Please pay close attention to what Jesus told the Disciples. "Let us pass over unto the other side."....This statement of Jesus IS GOING TO HAPPEN!! Now, the Disciples, as I said, thick headed, should have exercised their understanding that come hell or high water, they will make it to the other side just because the Master said they would. Look, Jesus knew they were going to make it to that other shore so He fell asleep.

O boy, wouldn't you know, I'd say that Satan whipped up a wicked storm to test the resolve of the Disciples and possibly even Jesus....4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full....The Disciples should have said, hey, lets not get scared, Jesus said we'd make it, and by gum, we'll make it, lets swim around in this boat and enjoy the moment.

Instead of taking Jesus' words as being assured of their success, they were panic stricken and woke Jesus and said.... Master, carest thou not that we perish? Faith, O that wonderful word FAITH. This is what Jesus said to them....4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Here is my thought, Jesus the Son of God has given us many promises in His Word to us. His instructions to us will stand any test!! What Jesus says, will happen!! Let it not be said of us, O ye of little faith.

Ok RJ, lets have some fun with this.
I do all the time!
Here is some fun to think about:
1 Corinthians 13:4-12
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 9 For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; 10 but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.

This is another one of those things that I have never heard preached before. I have never read it anywhere, nonetheless, it is in my heart.
  • Love never ends...indeed, faith and hope will cease but love endures fore-ever!
  • Prophecies....one of the most important facts about the Bible will come to an end.
  • Tongues... one of God's most precious gifts will be gone
  • knowledge.. current understanding will come to an end for something complete
  • knowledge is partial...inadequate and not perfect
  • the complete comes...some translations say perfect
  • partial will come to an end... when you are perfect, there is no partial
  • now we see in a mirror dimly... the mirror of that day was blurry and an imperfect reflection at best
  • then we will see face to face..... see who face to face, but God.
  • you will then know fully, even as you have been known: know complete, perfectly just like you have been know by who, but God.
Romans 8: 29 -30 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
Our final phase comes after we die our physical death or, caught up in the air. At which time we are made perfect or glorified.
For me, "perfect" is perfect. If God says I am perfect that must be pretty much complete. I will be in a place where there is no impossibilities; walking through doors will be easy.
If I am not mistaken, during the millennial reign of Christ , we will reign with him and there will be a combination of physical beings and spiritual beings......I only can wonder how they co-exist?

Bravo my friend, Bravo. You just hit a Chopper Home Run with that post. Hey, you ought to be a Preacher because you just preached a heck of message to me and other TJ members. You are absolutely RIGHT ON Brother, right on!! That's the best accounting of those wonderful gifts of God that I've ever seen. You just made my day!! There's a little Pentecostal dance in my feet, and a loud PRAISE JESUS.

@Chopper , I am sure many would disagree but, thank you for the fine words....coming from you, a true man of God, I take that as a real compliment!

From one man of God to another true man of God. Hey, don't pay any attention to your critics. I see your heart and they don't. You are a giant in the Spirit. A wonderful Servant of our Lord Jesus. One day you'll hear, "Well done my good and faithful Servant." He'll say, come and inherit your blessings.

I'll be right there clapping as Jesus places a Victors Crown on your worthy head. Bless you my good friend.

Oh stop it!....You will me up with praise and I am so blessed to have you as a friend and mentor!
I didn't mention it before but now is a good time. Go back to the 1 COR 13 and look at verse 11:
11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways.
The reason that you liked and understand what I posted so clearly,is that, you are fully matured spiritually, I think God put vs. 11 there for just that reason....you must be a spiritual adult to comprehend God's message.
I love you brother

Thanks for those kind words. Hey, you're my cheer leader and I'm yours. There is a Fountain filled with Blood drawn from Emanuel's veins, and sinners plunge beneath that flood and loose all their guilty stains. O Glory to our high and lifted up Elohim.
