in-fighting & gossip at church

Please pray for the situation at my church which this year has involved increasingly frayed tensions, negative criticism, fault-focussing, and slanderous gossip, directed towards my mother (and I suspect lately and to a lesser degree, towards myself). Many were friends and colleagues of ours who have now joined together and turned away, but some are also strangers (- Women!! Lol)! My mother was involved in a kind of voluntary leadership position and heavily involved in church activities. I increased my volunteering at church this year but am not in any leadership roles.

There have been no real improvements to the heavy atmosphere even though it is now the Christmas season. I'm believing for a new year for all which will be filled with reconciliation, truth, humility, compassion, grace, forgiveness, and most of all love; and most of all, bringing everybody's focus back on God, and working on our own faults rather than judging others'. I still believe God has not told us to go to another church, and I now call on God for His help and strength to move in this situation. God bless you.

Father I pray that You would bring Your peace and love to this congregation. Help them to see what they are doing is wrong. We are told to treat others as we want to be treated. What we sow we reap. I pray that they will learn to love You first and love each other as You tell us to do and bring back unity in fellowship in Jesus' name and for His glory amen.

Yes Lord, you are worthy, know all things.
Thats why I praise you for blessing my sister and her mother.

Lord you know the situation, you know the names father fill their hearts with Love and forgiveness. Remove that spirit of rebellion and confusion, help them to speak life and not death towards others. Bless their minds control their tongues, silent all deceiving and idle spirits.

Bless this church, renew them, build them.
Bless this family, speak to them and give them discernment on what to do.

Thankyou for your prayers! After showing absolutely no sign of letting up, (and in fact, witnessing a recent increase in a rather hostile atmosphere, which grew this year) mainly due to even noisier, bolder gossip (even right up till just last week) -an unexpected turn happened yesterday at church- when the main instigator of the division (and an old friend) who was not speaking with my mother, went and asked her if she could take her out this week for lunch so they can have a talk. This is a miracle. There is a change in the air and in hearts regarding this matter. May all party's involved reconcile and unite again with a new God-perspective of the other. Praise God!!!
