I magine there were no wars
Imagine weapons of mass destruction were ways of mass
construction
Imagine there was only mercy not missiles,
Imagine landmines were wheel chairs
Imagine detention bays were Relief disribution bays
Imagine Despots were deacons in church and bandits were buddies,
Imagine armoured personel carriers were ambulances.

Oh, where is our true world
our ethos
the social decorum
our magnanimity
our benovolence
Oh the philanthropy

A world where everyone is a friend
Where love is not lust
where heart breaks were heartfelt gratitudes
where you see through another and tell their motives

would we not have pear instead of fears
Cheers for jeers
honour for horror
peace for fists
bloom for gloom

AND A WORSHIP OF A TRUE GOD

Hey we could be part of the marshal plan
to build not tear
to pat not badger
to serve not chide
to love and not rival
to cheer and not jeer
For that is the world i imagine when christ comes
