IF THINE EYE BE SINGLE:

Our hearts ought to be set upon doing the will of God, and not to take for granted that because we have begun in the Spirit, that we are now advanced enough, that we need no more learning from God's Word.

This ought to be a lifetime endeavour for the professing Christian, that we continually search the scriptures daily, to find out what is right according to the will of God, and also what is wrong according to the will of God, but we must never presume what we think as to be right or wrong, except we know it by God´s Word.

Another way to say this, is that we need to know what is righteousness according to God, and not according to us; likewise, we need to know what is sin according to God, and not according to us. Because if we are serving sin, we are separated from righteousness, but if we are serving righteousness, then we are separated from sin.

We are called to a resurrection from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, but if we do not know what we are thinking, saying, or doing at any given time, and we be found in sin; is therefore Christ the teacher of sin? God forbid.

Christianity is the toughest vocation this world has ever seen, and as for higher learning, this is the Highest!

It needs to be diligently spent every day with soberness in the classroom of our heart, as we venture out into this present evil world daily.
We need to always evaluate, determine, and conclude all matters in our heart with the mind of Christ, even as Christ Himself told us why His judgment is just, Because He seek´s not His own will, but the will of the Father; and this we are to follow, for it defines self-denial, whereunto we are called in Christ.

As for sin, simply put, we need to know when we are wrong; we need to know the details, the specifics of sin, so that we may avoid to be in the midst of sinning.

A plain example of this was Moses, who quickly heard the instructions from God, and thought that God was just telling him the same instructions as before, concerning what to do to the rock; but if he would have diligently listened to God, he would have recognized that God had changed His instructions slightly.
Even so in Christ, for example, if Christ tells us to give to every one that asks, but we go our way, and give to some, but not to others, then we also are in defiance.
We may say, but I thought…this, or, but I thought…that; we therefore conclude our own version of what we think to be right, and by doing so, we make our will above His will. We may say, It is not our intention to defy Him, but we thought in the case of giving, he meant that we should give to those in need, and not to those who are not in need.

Beloved, this is the point of the matter; He knows what He is saying, and we need not presume any thing, rather, we must consider why He tells us to do things that are contrary to the natural man´s way of thinking; because He wants us to deny our own will, and submit to His, and this is then when He is our Lord, for a Lord is one whom people obey; Why do you think He said, “And why call ye me Lord,Lord, and do not the things which I say”?
Now I know there be some professing Christians out there that suppose that they don't have to do what Christ says, so they don't, but as for me, I will; and I will say as Paul said; Lord, what will you have me to do?

The sum of this letter is meant for our edification, and not for our destruction.

A Note concerning Giving: we must consider for what cause did Christ tell us to give to every one that asks; He is trying to Teach us to be unselfish, and no longer selfish, as in all that He teaches.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Thank you HisFollower,

Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!
:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been His counsellor?

1Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

Colossians 3:12-17

Bless you ....><>

Romans 8:5
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

2Corinthians 3:4-6
We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we can do anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and success come from God. He is the one who has enabled us to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.

1Corinthians 2:10-15
But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God’s deep secrets. No one can know what anyone else is really thinking except that person alone, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world’s spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t Christians can’t understand these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means. We who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can’t understand us at all.
