I need some counsel

I am a singer in my youth's praise and worship band. We are called "Covenant". Anyways, when we first started we had three singers, and the rest band members. Well, I think some pride issues got in the way of a sister, and she ended up quitting. Now instead of being the Child of God she says she is, she is going around spreading rumors about me, and making fun of me when I sing, and I did not do anything to her. And you know, I even asked her about it, and she said it wasn't me that made her quit. I didn't ask her that, but the point is she never answered my question, and she is still doing the same thing. And I wouldnt be making such a big deal about it if so many trustworthy people werent coming up to me and telling me about it.

I know how gossip can get started and spread, and I like to stop it. It is such a powerful way to destroy someone's testimony. So now, I just try to rebuke anything that is told to me, because it is causing distraction on my part to God, and confusion on what is really going on. You know, I told God that I was just going to leave it and this girl in His hands. I an tired of fooling with this on my own. But you know, it still hurts. Especially when it's someone who you thought was your friend.

Have any of you been in a similar situation or have any comments or counsel. I am willing to try anything at this point.

God Bless
Sis in Christ:love:

Lnrobar, as the Praise and Worship Band is part of your Youth, have you tried talking to your youth leader? Maybe they could get the two of you together to talk about this. Of course it hurts. When I was going through a time when people were telling lies about me I had to leave it with God, He reminded me how his Son had lies told about Him too, how people hated Him, yet He still loved those people. We are to follow Christs example.

Actually I have tried talking to him. He just doesn't want to be bothered with it. You know, after I look at it, it's all so childish. I mean, it's pointless to worry myself with trying to make things right when no one is willing to listen to me. I am the type of person who likes to have peace with all my brothers and sisters in Christ. I can't stand for someone to hate me for no reason. So I try to step up and make peace before things get out of hand. Even if I did nothing, I will still apologize. But no one seems to be listening. It is causing so much division in the Youth, and it's not just this situation. She is starting other rumors with other youth members. The devil is trying his best to destroy us. And they aren't seeing it. They are so blind, I don't understand.

We are a very blessed youth, and anointed, but we don't use it in the right way I guess you could say. Some people are too spiritual for their own good. I am just aggervated, and I don't need to be, because that too is a tool used by satan to divide the body of Christ. I am just confused:confused:

Lnrobar,
Hi! I'm new to this forum, in fact, I was trying to find someone to talk to about the great big problem I am facing in my life. However, I saw yours and felt an urgency to respond to your time of need.
First of all, we've all had similiar situations dealing with the "gossiping tongue." Naturally, others might say leave her alone, talk about her too or fight her but PlEASE DO NOT. Remember that she is God's creation too and even though it might not seem this way, she really needs a friend right now. I know it is difficult- but unforgiveness either on her part or yours does a lot of damage in our prayer lives. You did right when you said you put it in God's hands, once you do this, no longer think about it.
Find a private spot and bring a reputable witness along to ask her, "Have I done anything to upset you?" and before she can answer say this, "Whatever I've done, if anything, I ask you to forgive me?" Mean those words from the bottom of your heart and watch what GOD can do.
You will be doing the right thing.
If the rumors continue, this reputable witness that you brought along will remember her words as well as yours and she or he will remember you saying, "whatever I've done if anything, I ask you to forgive me?" So, what's more important: someone going around talking about you because they might be jealous of your singing abilities or a spiritual law of asking forgiveness.
People will see you did what God tells us to do and the girls' actions will be brought to nothing.
So Please do not worry about someone talking about you. Love this girl regardless, after all, it was LOVE that brought Jesus Christ to a dying world and Love changes every situation.

You have wisdom dear sister, thank you. I do love this sister with all my soul. Her family members are more of a family to me than my own. I do not hate her, nor would I ever do anything to bring others to hate her. Thank you for your advice. I too thought of just apologizing to her, just didn't know if I should or not. I asked my youth pastor, and he said just don't worry about it. So I never got to apologize to her. But I think I will. You know even if I don't get an apology back, I will still have the upmost respect for this girl.

Honestly she has no room to be jealous of me. She has a wonderful gift from God. I mean her voice is amazingly beautiful. She doesn't know how to use it the right way. She uses it to let people know she can sing instead to glorify the Lord. I think that is why she is no longer with the group. No anointing. But reguardless, I do not hate her or her companions that help her, I just despise what she is doing.
