It's eternal, right? What's going to happen when God creates a new Earth and new Heavens?

Do the beings in Heaven then have to be re-tested on the new Earth?

Will Earth/New Earth and the idea of an Earthly planet ever completely cease to exist?

Eventually, will Heaven be the only existence?

There are things we have no way of knowing until God reveals it to us.
The Bible says if all Jesus did were to be written, the world could not contain the books, so it would be best to trust, and wait and see.
Heaven is eternal, that we know, and evil will be done away with , and no we will not have to be tested again.
We have been given a glimpse of heaven in Rev. 4: an other places in the Bible, streets of gold etc. but I don't think we can begin to imagine heaven in these mortal bodies.

For me it isn't so much what heaven will be like, but that we will see Jesus, and be with him for all eternity.
That alone is more wonderful than mere words can describe.:friends:

Your last two sentences are very moving. That seems like the proper way to think. I feel bad, but I can't help but sometimes feel selfish when I wonder if my wife and I will be husband and wife in Heaven. Same with my children, will they be my children? I know we're all God's children, but will our individual families that we have grown close to and love on Earth be as special in Heaven? Meaning, will our spirits be closer to our Earthly families than that of other spirits that were strangers to us here...but obviously, Jesus is number one. And that's the way it should be.

first of all new heavens is talking about our heavens we see from earth and of course this earth will be made new becasue it has been mared by sin and its course.

and no once the new earth is made it will be forever as this earth was created to be the only reason it isnt is because e sinned and destroyed it. GOd says sin will never rise again.

Heaven will be hear on earth after it is made new and no we will not be re-tested foro that matter we are not being tested this time we simply turned away from GOd and GOd is giving us a choice to come back to Him through Jesus.

and I believe that we will have our partners in heaven and our children while the Bible does not say this i believe we will but there is one thing I do know that Heaven will not be a dissapontment. I believe that if you try to think of the most perfect place and existance. well heaven will be better than that.

In Heaven we are neither married, nor given in marriage, the Bible says, but if your family is born again, of course you will know them ,and even love them more fully than you ever could before.

Matthew 22:30
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels Of God,in heaven

It's hard to believe that I could love my wife and children anymore than I do right now. This Heaven must be more awesome than one could possibly imagine.

Yes, I believe that is most definitely true.

How can our finite mind comprehend absolute perfection, and beauty that never decays.
Streets of pure gold.
That says to me that pure gold is so common place, it is used for streets, like our cement, or blacktop!
A city that has foundations of precious jewels, yet to see Jesus is
far more valuable than all else .....Is. 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for
him that waiteth for him.

Sounds like you love your wife, and your children. very much.
Yet God has so much more in store, that is why I say ,we cannot understand in these finite bodies.
You are very blessed indeed!

Just a note on what you have said here.

many ave missconcieved that matt 22 is saying that we will not be married in heaven but the truth of the matter is Jesus was only answereing their direct question which was a silly one to trap Him in the first place.

Why was it silly becasue the ones who were asking the question did not believe in the resurrection or angels and Jesus knew this so he answered their question in a way that would stop their silliness in its tracks.

second Jesus answered their question directly by way of things will not be the same in heaven as you know them here eg their tradition of marriage then was if the husband died then his brother would take his place etc. Jesus was saying that the traditions of this time were not the way of heaven.

in short Jesus was not trying to say there would be no union in heaven or having chuildren or anything like that in fact we were origionally made to come together man and woman and become one even before sin entered the equation so though the Bible does not tackle this subject head on because it is not a salvational issue, we only have what little examples are in the BIble.

In short we don't know but this verse does not tell us either way but if we go by what was when the world was perfect before sin then we have to assume there will be union between man and woman and chuildren also.

Blessings

In a parallel citation to Gracealone's quote from Matthew, Jesus says (Mk 12:25 NIV), "When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. They will be like the angels in heaven."

Also, Peter tells us that at the resurrection, all things related to human existence as we know it will be done away with: "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." (2 Pet 3:10 NIV).
