We cannot trust our feelings...only the Word of God. Faith comes by hearing:
1. Read the scriptures, slowly and outloud as to hear them...even if its only 5 verses and underline your bible those words that stand out to you. If you don't understand, look the verse up on internet or youtube for several interpretations. The Holy Spirit will guide you, if you ask him!
2. Get in a bible reading church / bible study home group
ie. Calvary Chapel they go thru the scriptures at the pulpit Genesis thru Revelation. God did not make you to be an island unto yourself. You were made to have fellowship w/ God and the brethren. Romans 12 instructs us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds! 2 Timothy Ch. 3 verses 15-17 tells how the scriptures are holy and have supernatural power
to equip us to do all that God desires us to do!
3. God made us in his image...Genesis 1 we read how he created with his Spoken Word. Throughout the scriptures he tells us how we speak life and death with the tongue (our words) in James ch. 3 it sets on fire the course of nature! Proverbs 18:20-21 Life and Death are in the power of the tongue.
4. Find scripture to speak life over yourself...God will make it happen. Isaiah 55:11 and Jeremiah 1:12 he hastens his word to perform it!
ie:
A. Speak Proverbs 3:5-6 Outloud but personalize it! Say everyday outloud: I will trust in the LORD with all mine heart, and lean not unto my own understanding!
B. Speak Ephesians 2:8. Through Grace I am saved by faith, and not of myself, as it is a gift of God.
5. Pray and talk to God as you would to a father/friend. Giving all your burdens and concerns to him! He wants you to need him, so he can show you his reality and power, but you have to ask in prayer in Jesus name. He created us to have fellowship with him. He could not do that with Robots, so he gave us a free will to make a conscious choice to choose him and accept his free gift of life eternal by the Cross of Jesus Christ. And you can always just pray the Lord's prayer to start: as
Jesus himself gave us an ensample of how prayer should be patterned in Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord's Prayer).
6. Helps to get prayer handbooks: prayers that are founded on scripture are potent! As God says his word will not return void!
Isaiah 55:11 KJV.
