Psalm 46:1-3
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
v10 "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
Holy Heavenly Father,
Blessed are You our Lord, our God, King of the Universe who commands the winds and the waves, the rains and the snow and all of nature's wonders. Your steadfast love endures forever and You alone are God. We are in awe of Your power and Your mercy. Thank You for making the way for us in Christ Jesus and thank You for the honor of Your presence in our lives.
Your Word says that where ever two or more are gathered in Your name, You are there also. Thank you Lord.
We ask that You watch over all Your people experiencing extreme weather and remind them that You are their refuge and strength and a very present help in times of trouble. Help them not to fear but to trust in You. Keep them safe in this tremendous storm and help them to remember that You are God and Your love for them is stronger than any storm.
I pray for all the people effected by Hurricane Sandy. I pray for Your people to reach out and help those they can and to share the love of God with those they encounter, showing Christian Love and understanding.
I pray that as your people cry out in their distress that you deliver them and calm the storm.
In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
Psalm 107:25 " For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. 26 They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; 27 they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits' end. 28 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 29 He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed."
