Hey y'all! I'm new here on the site and I just wanted to introduce myself a little. I'm 23 and I work full-time as a Service Manager. I am studying secondary education at EMU. I was saved in December of 2008 and been on fire and blazing a trail ever since! :star:

God and what Jesus did for me are my #1 priority in life and I dare anyone to challenge that for a second. I don't care whose toes I step on or who I offend when I'm spreading the Gospel, because it's the TRUTH. I live for God and that's all there is to it.

But I signed up for this sight, so I could get some insight on religion, and you seem like a good candidate, I'm atheist, nothing will change that, but I thought if i talked to real people, then I'd learn faster.
Before you start your preaching stuff, I was a member of the baptist church of america 10 of my 14 years, the last 4 years I gave testaments and preached, but now I'm on the other side of the arguement.
So after all that, my question is, what compels somebody to believe in a giant all powerful spaceman?..not to be offensive, because in all reality, that is INDEED what a god is

apatch45, I'm glad you signed up to learn and not be closed-minded like other non-believers. Hopefully here you will find the answers you are seeking; God promises that anyone who truly seeks Him will find Him.

As far as what led me to Christ, one is that ALL of the Messianic Prophecies have been fulfilled and can be proven regardless of the prophecies being written over 500 yrs before Jesus' birth. Also, a good friend once told me "why would many of the Apostles die a horrible, gruesome, torturous death if Jesus wasn't 100% real?" After all, they saw Jesus in action and even saw Him after His resurrection. Lastly, there are too many "laws" in this universe for it not to be given by an Intelligent Designer...physics, gravity, morality, etc.

I hope and pray you find what you are looking for apatch45 and am truly glad you came in curious with honest questions. For searching God out yourself, you will truly be able to defend your faith and give reasons as to the hope you believe, if you so find out.

It's so good to see someone who doesn't want to stay lost and who wants to know more about God. I don't do "preaching and stuff" so don't worry about that. I can say that getting insight on religion is a good idea because then you know where everyone stands and what they believe in. With you growing up Baptist I think you and I both know that having a relationship with Christ is not being religious. Jesus came here to destroy religion and build relationships.

Before I can answer your ultimate question, what compels someone to believe in God, I have to ask, what compelled you to believe in him all those 10 years that you did?
