Well i didnt know where to post this, but i hope its the right place.

Im just wondring something.I recently gave my life to christ again.I got baptised and everything. But im wondering..since im a new christian will it be hard to kick the old habbits and be completley changed or is it a transition right away. And when it comes to forgiving..do i just ask god for forgivness as long as it comes from my heart and i repent and say it with my mouth?I mean im doing good so far..but when i do slip up.is that the way things should go?

Have a blessed day

Good questions brother! Let me provide some Scripture that will answer them all straightforward and clear.

Ask for forgiveness, you are forgiven.

Hebrews 8:12
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

Isaiah 43:25
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ paid for ALL sins

Matthew 26:28
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 13:38
"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

Love is sincere

Hebrews 10:22
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

James 3:17
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Romans 12:9
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

God will change your heart to be like Christ, weeding out your evil desires if you allow Him FULLY to take control of your life. You need to depend on GOD, not yourself for a transformation of mind and heart. Also, your will to obey GOD with faith matters.

Hebrews 10:22
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
