How to be an Overcomer in Christ

Romans 7:15-25 says: For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

This scripture tells us though there is nothing good in us, there is freedom through Jesus Christ. By seeking the WORD OF GOD and be willing to obey it and call on JESUS CHRIST, we can live as an overcomer in Christ. We must examine ourselves to see what is it that always tempts us, and every morning, meditate on those issues and how to overcome when the temptation comes.

Revelation 12:11 says "And they overcame him (the accuser of the brethren / Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."

The good news is that JESUS CHRIST has given us the power to overcome using His Blood.

When you face temptation, or feel like a there is a "warring against the law of my mind" i.e. a struggle within you to do the right thing, then go to a quiet or private place and say aloud:

"In Jesus Name I command the spirit of ________ (name the sin here that is tempting you – whether its lying, adultery, anger) to go from me in Jesus Name. I call on the Blood of Jesus and command my heart, mind and soul to be subject to Jesus Christ and to seek to please Jesus Christ. I receive the spirit of righteousness, peace and joy and I receive the fear of the God in Jesus Name. Amen"

If you continue to feel a struggle, keep saying "Blood of Jesus Christ" aloud, over and over again, until you feel a release.

It worked for me ALL the time.
