This is the account of the creation of the heavens and the earth. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, Genesis 2:4 NLT
God drew from His imagination and created a world illuminated by light He created, populated by animals He imagined, and filled with lakes and oceans teeming with life. It was mankind’s first chance to prove faithful. They failed.
The story of mankind started with a God who went above and beyond to offer the first second chance. He set the example of endurance and asks you to follow His lead. His second chance if for the nearly faithful, the sometimes faithful, and the hardly ever faithful.
God made the earth and everything in it. He sustains what He made. He sets the pace in the rhythms of grace. He has endured mankind’s failure from the very first act of disobedience. That’s important because the book of Genesis recalls the, “Story of how it all started.”
God is the enduring One who invites you to show His character to others by withstanding trials and bearing up under temptation so you can follow Him. This is your journey. Endure to the end and find encouragement to make each step a choice of endurance. It’s a new year. It’s a new day.
Prayer: God, I want this year to be the one when my spiritual muscles get in shape and my will bends to Your direction. Let today begin the story of how it all started in me.
