Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I have no idea where I should post it!!!

Is every verse in the Bible for me?

What I mean is this. If I read:

Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

(which I have read in another post this morning)

how do I know if that verse is for me?

I am confused how to write this as simply as I can so that you can understand my question, but I would love that verse to be for me today - as I am very afraid and feel very alone - but the Bible was written such a long time ago. So how can I get personal comfort from a verse written such a long time ago and not written personally for me?

It is a bit like me picking up my friend's love letter from her husband to her and reading it and thinking that the sentiments of the letter are for me, when I know that when he wrote it, it was a very private communication from him to her, for her eyes only.

When that verse was written, it couldn't have been for my eyes only as millions of people have read those words (and maybe thousands have already read it today).

So how do I know which verses from the Bible are meant personally for me?

My dear sister the Bible is indeed God's love letter to us. It is living and active and sharper than a double edged sword. Hebrews 4.12

It was written for all His children. That includes you dear one.

There are scriptures for every day of the year regarding not being afraid. That is because He knows us and knows we need these to remind us that He is in control and we have nothing to fear.

Fear is false evidence appearing real.

Proverbs 3.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Psalm 118 I suggest you read the whole Psalm ( I use Biblegateway)
5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD,
and he answered by setting me free.

6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.
I will look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in man.

9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in princes.

Isaiah 12
Songs of Praise
1 In that day you will say:
"I will praise you, O LORD.
Although you were angry with me,
your anger has turned away
and you have comforted me.

2 Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation."

3 With joy you will draw water
from the wells of salvation.

4 In that day you will say:
"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.

5 Sing to the LORD, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.

6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."

God bless

Hi there sister. The Bible is God's Words. The Bible contains words which were inspired by God, written by men, but containing the thoughts and heart of God.

Many scholars and church leaders say the Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit. He is God, but He is also one person that is part of God. The Bible was written by the Father and Jesus as well.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Bible is a book, but it lives. It is the only living book in the world.

Hebrews 4:12-13
12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The last part that I emphasized in bold is very important. It is a revelation from the Bible. It is saying that everything in the Bible, in our lives are opened and revealed to us by God in His Word. The reason is so that we can see plainly and without question the reasons to what we should give account.

The Bible contains all the answers to the worlds problems. It contains God's laws and commandments, it contains the message of Salvation. But, it is also the means by which the Lord communicates with His people.

Is it personal? Is it for you? It is nothing less than perfect, it is personal for each and every individual.

Open your heart to God, in more ways than you thought were possible. Submit your self fully to His will and plan for your life. Give yourself in full submission to the Lord. So that He may shape you, form you and use you for His glory.

The Bible and the Words of God were summed up by Lord Jesus in the following verse:
Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

God knows what He wants to say to you. If you feel inside of yourself that God is saying things to you through His Word. Accept it, acknowledge Him, thank Him, praise Him and continue to hunger for Him.

Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

God bless you
Much love :love:

Good Bible study involves answer at least three questions about any passage of scripture

  • What did it mean for the original audience in their situation?
  • What does it tell us about God?
  • What does it mean for us in our situation now?

Often we pick and choose which Bible verses we want to apply to ourselves without thinking about it too deeply.

For example we quite often claim the words of Jeremiah for the exiles carried to Babylon for ourselves. Jeremiah 29. 'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'

You will not find many people who hold on to the promise that the Lord gave to the people who stay behind in Jerusalem (Jeremiah 29.17).

The whole Bible has something to teach us, but we must be careful how we handle it. We need to be careful going through the above steps, thinking of the Bible first as God's revelation about himself. As the words of scripture teach us more about who God is, and how he works it gives us great comfort.

The fact that it was written a long time ago is not such a great problem. God is eternal, and what was revealed about him in biblical times holds true today.

So the logic of the verse that you quoted holds true. It is asks you: if God is with us, what is there that we can possibly fear?

Thank you so much for all of your replies.

THAT IS SO EXCITING!!!!

- God speaking to me through the Bible - WOW!

- God speaking to me - WOW!

- God speaking to ME!

Hello Sadeyes, yes God does speak to us. The whole Bible is for your comfort. What helped me when I was being afraid; I kept repeating this scripture over and over.

2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Eventually you will feel God working in you and you will feel at peace and in His presence. As soon as I feel a bit afraid, I use that scripture, but believing is the key though, you really need to believe the scriptures are true, so that God can help you/us. Reading it and digesting it are two different things. The whole key to Bible is believing that everything is true and He will reveal mysteries to you. Once you believe, God can work at healing you. Open up and submit your whole heart to Him.

Also once you have opened up your whole heart and you will want to change and you will get to know His voice.

The Father and Jesus, wants to manifest themselves in you, so that they can help you and teach you and guide you all day.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Walk in Spirit. :love:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, Word of Life.

The good news is that I am beginning to understand and I think that it is all very amazing and all very exciting!

Thank you Jesus for helping our dear sister to understand and begin to get excited. She is only a week old in You and has shown such a great longing to understand by asking us questions and this is pleasing to You as You so desire us to walk with You and talk with You each day and to share our life with You. You want us to tell You everything that bothers us or encourages us. You know all about us but seek to hear from us too.

You are an awesome God and we love You because You first loved us.

God bless you

Love in Christ :love: :rainbow: :rose:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, Word of Life.

The good news is that I am beginning to understand and I think that it is all very amazing and all very exciting!

I am so happy that God has touched your heart. :love: Every day I look forward to waking up and spending time in His presece. Yes, it certainly is amazing and excting. God bless you.

1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

How special that the verse touched you! See how much God loves us, just to reach out and grab a hold of you like that? He longs for us to look for Him, and you ARE! Keep it up sweetie!
When something touches when you read it, and catches your attention, that is God...trying to tell you something.

I am so amazed at the posts that I have received today and the way that you all seem so matter-of-fact about experiencing God and him speaking to you etc.

You write as though it is just a normal part of life to have GOD speaking to you.

If I went to England and visited the Queen that would be very exciting and I would be telling everybody about it.

But this is much, much, much, more significant than speaking to the Queen of England and yet, it is so normal for you all.

I really am shocked at all of this.

When God speaks to me, I will want to shout it from the roof tops because this is God talking to 'little old me'!

It is not (in my experience) normal to have Almighty God, who is master of everything, speaking to me. I feel so unworthy at just the thought of it.

That is like the Queen of England going and speaking to the least important person in England - IT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN - and yet, you say that God speaks to you as an everyday occurence!

I am shocked by how normal it is for you, but also, that in the future, it could be normal for me too.

As I have said before, I found this website by mistake. I was looking for information on suicide techniques. I didn't expect that instead of killing myself, I would end up with God, one day (or perhaps every day) speaking to me.

That is out of this world AMAZING!!!

:shock::shock::shock:

Take it step by step, day by day. Don't be worried, don't fret, don't toil, don't top or turn over.

That's a small sentence that just came out, lol!

God is amazing sister. I have known people that have heard the audible voice of God, I have a few personal experiences that showed me the magnificence of God, but mostly, I know He exists.

Jesus came to die for our sins, He was born for that very reason.

In the old days, before Jesus was born, He was in heaven, with His Father and the Holy Spirit. God used mighty miracles and spectacular events to show that He existed.

Exodus 15:26
He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

One of these events:

2 Samuel 22
David's Song of Praise
1 David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. 2 He said:
"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

3 my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—
from violent men you save me.

4 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

5 "The waves of death swirled about me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

6 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.

7 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I called out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came to his ears.

8 "The earth trembled and quaked,
the foundations of the heavens shook;
they trembled because he was angry.

9 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.

10 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.

11 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.

12 He made darkness his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.

13 Out of the brightness of his presence
bolts of lightning blazed forth.

14 The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.

15 He shot arrows and scattered the enemies ,
bolts of lightning and routed them.

16 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at the rebuke of the LORD,
at the blast of breath from his nostrils.

17 "He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.

18 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.

19 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.

20 He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.

21 "The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.

22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD;
I have not done evil by turning from my God.

23 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.

24 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.

25 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to my cleanness in his sight.

26 "To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,

27 to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.

28 You save the humble,
but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.

29 You are my lamp, O LORD;
the LORD turns my darkness into light.

30 With your help I can advance against a troop ;
with my God I can scale a wall.

31 "As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the LORD is flawless.
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in him.

32 For who is God besides the LORD ?
And who is the Rock except our God?

33 It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.

34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.

35 He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

36 You give me your shield of victory;
you stoop down to make me great.

37 You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.

38 "I pursued my enemies and crushed them;
I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

39 I crushed them completely, and they could not rise;
they fell beneath my feet.

40 You armed me with strength for battle;
you made my adversaries bow at my feet.

41 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight,
and I destroyed my foes.

42 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them—
to the LORD, but he did not answer.

43 I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth;
I pounded and trampled them like mud in the streets.

44 "You have delivered me from the attacks of my people;
you have preserved me as the head of nations.
People I did not know are subject to me,

45 and foreigners come cringing to me;
as soon as they hear me, they obey me.

46 They all lose heart;
they come trembling from their strongholds.

47 "The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior!

48 He is the God who avenges me,
who puts the nations under me,

49 who sets me free from my enemies.
You exalted me above my foes;
from violent men you rescued me.

50 Therefore I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations;
I will sing praises to your name.

51 He gives his king great victories;
he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever."

Sometimes God speaks loud and clear and one day Jesus is going to do the same. Like I said above, Jesus died for our sins, the sins of the world, so that everyone could be saved and so that everyone could have the opportunity to be saved. Jesus is God, everlasting, but in human form, whilst He was on earth.

Jesus died and after He died He was raised from the dead by the Lord, He stayed on earth for 40 days and then He went up to heaven on the clouds.

This may sound like a fairy tale, but it is true. But, the big but! When He comes, He will come so that everyone will see Him and know Him. There are technicalities to all of this, but the main thing to remember is that He will return.

He is returning for you my dear sister. If I die today, and I am asleep as Jesus used to call death, I will be with the Lord, but the main thing to remember is that I will be raised to life as soon as He returns:

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

So, being alive and being a Christian today, we have to live as Jesus instructed us, we have believe in Him and live according to His will. If we do that, He will either take us up alive, or He will awaken us from our sleep, neither really matters, because we will be with Him.
Hebrews 9:27-28
27Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

God bless
Much love

Thank you Teraside for your post and the time that it took to write it. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I'm still very excited at the thought of God speaking to me!!!!!

I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

God loves you with an everlasting Love.

Father God hallowed be your name, your kingdom come into and upon our sisters life, Your will be done in our sister life as your will is done in heaven, and turn her sadeyes into gladeyes, in Jesus mighty name, Amen!

Blessings,
Tony

Teraside has got me excited about hearing Gods voice audibly.

So I did a search about it and found this Sadeyes, steps in hearing God's voice.

4 Keys to Hearing God's Voice

The age in which we live is so married to rationalism and cognitive, analytical thought that we almost mock when we hear of one actually claiming to be able to hear the voice of God. However, we do not scoff, for several reasons. First, men and women throughout the Bible heard God’s voice. Also, there are some highly effective and reputable men and women of God alive today who demonstrate that they hear God’s voice. Finally, there is a deep hunger within us all to commune with God, and hear Him speak within our hearts.

As a born-again, Bible-believing Christian, I struggled unsuccessfully for years to hear God’s voice. I prayed, fasted, studied my Bible and listened for a voice within, all to no avail. There was no inner voice that I could hear! Then God set me aside for a year to study, read, and experiment in the area of learning to hear God’s voice. During that time, God taught me four keys that opened the door to two-way prayer. I have discovered that not only do they work for me, but they have worked for many thousands of believers who have been taught to use them, bringing tremendous intimacy to their Christian experience and transforming their very way of living. This will happen to you also as you seek God, utilizing the following four keys. They are all found in Habakkuk 2:1,2. I encourage you to read this passage before going on.

Step #1 – God’s voice in our hearts sounds like a flow of spontaneous thoughts. Therefore, when I tune to God, I tune to spontaneity.
The Bible says that the Lord answered me and said...(Hab. 2:2). Habakkuk knew the sound of God’s voice. Elijah described it as a still, small voice. I had always listened for an inner audible voice, and surely God can and does speak that way at times. However, I have found that for most of us, most of the time, God’s inner voice comes to us as spontaneous thoughts, visions, feelings, or impressions. For example, haven’t each of us had the experience of driving down the road and having a thought come to us to pray for a certain person? We generally acknowledge this to be the voice of God callus to pray for that individual. My question to you is, "What did God’s voice sound like as you drove in your car? Was it an inner, audible voice, or was it a spontaneous thought that lit upon your mind?" Most of you would say that God’s voice came to you as a spontaneous thought.

So I thought to myself, "Maybe when I listen for God’s voice, I should be listening for a flow of spontaneous thoughts. Maybe spirit-level communication is received as spontaneous thoughts, impressions, feelings, and visions." Through experimentation and feedback from thousands of others, I am now convinced that this is so.

The Bible confirms this in many ways. The definition of paga, the Hebrew word for intercession, is "a chance encounter or an accidental intersecting." When God lays people on our hearts for intercession, He does it through paga, a chance encounter thought, accidentally intersecting our thought processes. Therefore, when I tune to God, I tune to chance encounter thoughts or spontaneous thoughts. When I am poised quietly before God in prayer, I have found that the flow of spontaneous thoughts that comes is quite definitely from God.

Step #2 – I must learn to still my own thoughts and emotions, so that I can sense God’s flow of thoughts and emotions within me.
Habakkuk said, "I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart..." (Hab. 2:1). Habakkuk knew that in order to hear God’s quiet, inner, spontaneous thoughts, he had to first go to a quiet place and still his own thoughts and emotions. Psalm 46:10 encourages us to be still, and know that He is God. There is a deep inner knowing (spontaneous flow) in our spirit that each of us can experience when we quiet our flesh and our minds.

I have found several simple ways to quiet myself so that I can more readily pick up God’s spontaneous flow. Loving God through a quiet worship song is a most effective means for me (note II Kings 3:15). It is as I become still (thoughts, will, and emotions) and am poised before God that the divine flow is realized. Therefore, after I worship quietly and then become still, I open myself for that spontaneous flow. If thoughts come to me of things I have forgotten to do, I write them down and then dismiss them. If thoughts of guilt or unworthiness come to my mind, I repent thoroughly, receive the washing of the blood of the Lamb, and put on His robe of righteousness, seeing myself spotless before the presence of God.

As I fix my gaze upon Jesus (Heb. 12:2), becoming quiet in His presence, and sharing with Him what is on my heart, I find that two-way dialogue begins to flow. Spontaneous thoughts flow from the throne of God to me, and I find that I am actually conversing with the King of Kings.

It is very important that you become still and properly focused if you are going to receive the pure word of God. If you are not still, you will simply be receiving your own thoughts. If you are not properly focused on Jesus, you will receive an impure flow, because the intuitive flow comes out of that upon which you have fixed your eyes. Therefore, if you fix your eyes upon Jesus, the intuitive flow comes from Jesus. If you fix your gaze upon some desire of your heart, the intuitive flow comes out of that desire of your heart. To have a pure flow you must first of all become still, and secondly, you must carefully fix your eyes upon Jesus. Again I will say, this is quite easily accomplished by quietly worshiping the King, and then receiving out of the stillness that follows.

Step #3 – As I pray, I fix the eyes of my heart upon Jesus, seeing in the spirit the dreams and visions of Almighty God. We have already alluded to this principle in the previous paragraphs; however, we need to develop it a bit further. Habakkuk said, "I will keep watch to see," and God said, "Record the vision" (Hab. 2:1,2). It is very interesting that Habakkuk was going to actually start looking for vision as he prayed. He was going to open the eyes of his heart, and look into the spirit world to see what God wanted to show him. This is an intriguing idea.

I had never thought of opening the eyes of my heart and looking for vision. However, the more I thought of it, the more I realized this was exactly what God intends me to do. He gave me eyes in my heart. They are to be used to see in the spirit world the vision and movement of Almighty God. I believe there is an active spirit world functioning all around me. This world is full of angels, demons, the Holy Spirit, the omnipresent God, and His omnipresent Son, Jesus. There is no reason for me not to see it, other than my rational culture, which tells me not to believe it is even there and provides no instructions on how to become open to seeing this spirit world.

The most obvious prerequisite to seeing is that we need to look. Daniel was seeing a vision in his mind and he said, "I was looking...I kept looking...I kept looking" (Dan. 7:1,9,13). Now as I pray, I look for Jesus present with me, and I watch Him as He speaks to me, doing and saying the things that are on His heart. Many Christians will find that if they will only look, they will see. Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us. It is as simple as that. You will see a spontaneous inner vision in a manner similar to receiving spontaneous inner thoughts. You can see Christ present with you in a comfortable setting, because Christ is present with you in a comfortable setting. Actually, you will probably discover that inner vision comes so easily you will have a tendency to reject it, thinking that it is just you. (Doubt is satan’s most effective weapon against the Church.) However, if you will persist in recording these visions, your doubt will soon be overcome by faith as you recognize that the content of them could only be birthed in Almighty God.

God continually revealed Himself to His covenant people using dream and vision. He did so from Genesis to Revelation and said that, since the Holy Spirit was poured out in Acts 2, we should expect to receive a continuing flow of dreams and visions (Acts 2:1-4). Jesus, our perfect example, demonstrated this ability of living out of ongoing contact with Almighty God. He said that He did nothing on His own initiative, but only that which he saw the Father doing, and heard the Father saying (Jn. 5:19,20,30). What an incredible way to live!

Is it actually possible for us to live out of the divine initiative as Jesus did? A major purpose of Jesus’ death and resurrection was that the veil be torn from top to bottom, giving us access into the immediate presence of God, and we are commanded to draw near (Heb. l0:19-22). Therefore, even though what I am describing seems a bit unusual to a rational twentieth century culture, it is demonstrated and described as being a central biblical teaching and experience. It is time to restore to the Church all that belongs to the Church.

Because of their intensely rational nature and existence in an overly rational culture, some will need more assistance and understanding of these truths before they can move into them. They will find this help in the book Communion With God by the same author.

Step #4 – Journaling, the writing out of our prayers and God’s answers, provides a great new freedom in hearing God’s voice.
God told Habakkuk to record the vision and inscribe it on tablets...(Hab. 2:2). It had never crossed my mind to write out my prayers and God’s answers as Habakkuk did at God’s command. If you begin to search Scripture for this idea, you will find hundreds of chapters demonstrating it (Psalms, many of the prophets, Revelation). Why then hadn’t I ever thought of it?

I called the process "journaling," and I began experimenting with it. I discovered it to be a fabulous facilitator to clearly discerning God’s inner, spontaneous flow, because as I journaled I was able to write in faith for long periods of time, simply believing it was God. I did not have to test it as I was receiving it, (which jams one’s receiver), because I knew that when the flow was over I could go back and test and examine it carefully, making sure that it lined up with Scripture.

You will be amazed when you attempt journaling. Doubt may hinder you at first, but throw it off, reminding yourself that it is a biblical concept, and that God is present, speaking to His children. Don’t take yourself too seriously. When you do, you become tense and get in the way of the Holy Spirit’s movement. It is when we cease our labors and enter His rest that God is free to flow (Heb. 4:10). Therefore, put a smile on your face, sit back comfortably, get out your pen and paper, and turn your attention toward God in praise and worship, seeking His face. As you write out your question to God and become still, fixing your gaze on Jesus, who is present with you, you will suddenly have a very good thought in response to your question. Don’t doubt it, simply write it down. Later, as you read your journaling, you, too, will be amazed to discover that you are indeed dialogging with God.

Wow! Thank you Word of life for finding that for me. It is a lot to take on board, but having read it, I get the gist of what it is saying. At least I know what I should be aiming for, although I think to reach the point where the author of the article is at will be a very long way away for me!!!!!!

Thanks anyway for finding it.

:love:

Whoops! Sorry Tony! Missed your post first time around!

Thank you so much for a beautiful prayer.

Maybe one day, my sadeyes will indeed become gladeyes - That is a lovely thought, but in all honesty that would take a miracle!!!

So I did a search about it and found this Sadeyes, steps in hearing God's voice.

A word of caution, you need to be in the flow of what God is doing and wanting to do at this present time, if you are going to hear God speak in this way consistently.

Firstly, you need to actively seek God in your devotions and His will, Matthew 6:9-10, pray it, seek it in the hear and now. The other prayer you've touched on Ephesians 1:17-18 when you pray this consistently, this is where the Word becomes tangible and the Word forms vision and you can start to see or hear the things of the Kingdom. Of course it goes without saying that you must read the Bible on a regular basis, and you should have read at the very least the New Testament.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit quickens your spiritual senses and enables you to receive revelation more readily. So anyone who hasn't received this immersion in the Holy Spirit would do well to seek Him, you ask Jesus. Besides reading the Word, worship is very important – Our Father hallowed be your name – God inhabits your worship and there's this tremendous exchange where your spirit and the Holy Spirit are responsive one to the other.

As a final safe guard you should share what God speaks to you with someone who is spiritually mature, preferably from a Charismatic/pentecostal background.

Blessings

Whoops! Sorry Tony! Missed your post first time around!

Thank you so much for a beautiful prayer.

Maybe one day, my sadeyes will indeed become gladeyes - That is a lovely thought, but in all honesty that would take a miracle!!!

God is in the miracle business, it's His nature He does them as easily as we breath air. I've personally seen more miracles that I can remember easily. You know there are people on this forum who will stand by you and help you. Receiving revelation/hearing God is the key to your troubles. To begin with God usually speaks to you through other people. And also through reading the Bible. A revelation is were something you hear or read suddenly make sense and you understand it a bit like a light going on, that is God speaking to you, and that is how faith comes. Once faith comes God the Holy Spirit moves on your faith and brings into being what you are believing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write 2 replies.

However, I've got to be honest with you and say that your first reply is too difficult for me to understand. Sorry - hope that that hasn't offended you - but I really do not know what you mean.

I liked your phrase:

"God is in the miracle business" - because I need big miracles in my life.
