How bad do you really want it?

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭

One thing I know about God is sometimes you pray and He comes immediately and other times He may take some time. But either way, God is faithful and will answer your prayers. During my time of prayer and fasting for breakthroughs in the area of business relationships and opportunities, I remember my mother instructing me to really reach out to God. I thought to myself, “I am. What more can I do?” Then she asked me, “Kem, how bad do you really want it?” Wow! I knew at that moment it was time for me to kick my prayers up a notch if I wanted to see the blessings manifest on this side of heaven.

Some things come by prayer and fasting

From there, my mother, friend and I began a fast to seek God for different prayer requests. She told us she had heard from God and He instructed her to give us this message. She led us to a scripture in the Bible which spoke of Jacob who wrestled with the angel the entire night. He declared he wasn’t going to let go until God blessed him.

How powerful is that?

After hearing this, we knew it was time to really pray. So we did. We decided to fast for approximately three months and pray twice daily. Can I tell you God really moved during this time?

Be anxious for nothing

During this time, God revealed some things to me. He ministered to me regarding being anxious. He led me to this scripture a few times. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything make your requests known unto God. This was an eye opener. I finally realized there was no need to worry but make my requests known to Him. I didn’t need to force my will on God. I could relax because He has and continues to hear my prayers.

God led me to Psalm 91. He revealed to me I no longer have to move ahead of Him. I could finally relax and declare I am abiding in His secret place. It is here where He continues to protect me. In this place, I am guided by the Holy Spirit, who is showing me what to do.
