Holy Spirit

I would ask "why".

I'm not against Pentecostal gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor 12 and 14 ). But the purpose of them is to edify the church, not yourself.
Also I don't think we can command God to do anything, but we can ask Him.
Finally I would ask if you have any scripture to support being "slain" in the Spirit?

I have seen videos of people slain in the spirit and I am curious to know what it is like.

I agree with B-A-C.
I am not apposed to your " Slain In The Spirit" experience, for with God, anything is possible.
But, St. Paul was explicit about "Edifying The Church" whether it be speaking in tongues or being fallen prostrate, if it is self gratifying and not edifying the church, be careful, you may not want do it.

It's all fake and simply mass hypnosis. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you it doesn't make you go unconscious it makes you energetic, alive and even dance like 2 Sam 6:14. The Holy Spirit comes upon us, for His service, not so we can zone out and lie on the floor. In Pentecost, the first thing they did after receiving the Spirit was start preaching. The power of the Holy Spirit increases activity and service not decreases it. I've been at Benny Hinn events when he waves his hand and everyone falls down, I also fell down after being "slain by the Spirit", but it's not all that it seems. It's simply one or a few weak minded individuals, get a bit excited, they get hypnotized or go unconscious and you know, the domino effect. It feels like someone pushing you over, because that's all it is. I fell over because of the domino effect, nothing more. And normally he asks you to hold hands with someone next to you - again, when others fall down, you are going to fall down too because they are holding your hand. At local churches, some pastors try to replicate this practice, watch the hands and the fingers.. they push you back from your forehead or cheek... there are pressure points all over the facial and neck region which are taught in martial arts to help weaken an opponent. You will feel weak and feel the "Spirit" because yes they are pressing on your nerves. They never slay you in the spirit whilst lying down or sitting down, because they can't. You have to be standing up first, and then they will do something to you to make you fall over and think you had a spiritual experience. Then they will ask you to give money to the offering and you will want to come back the next week to repeat the experience all over again. You can tell the pastor is in on this game when he gets frustrated and has a frown on his face if you are not falling down like everyone else, then he will try to push you over even harder and pray even harder and louder. It's quite funny actually.

Gift of God is genuine. It is not fake.In these last days God wants to use us mightily for his service.Gifts of prophecy and speaking in tongues has to come from God. To receive gifts from God we have to be qualified .Peter was not worthy to be a servant of God.Jesus came in search of him, but when he seen Jesus dived into the water. He said to peter I will make u fishers of men.He had many sins.Jesus changed him. After Jesus left heaven , promised the disciples to wait for holy spirit power from God. When Pentecost came power from high ,everybody began speaking with tongues. The timid, sinful, peter received the holy spirit anointing .He began to preach to the people there......... Till now the gifts are showered to us by God.Mary the mother of Jesus also received and waited for the power ... ..... Without God's power we are useless .

The year was 1997 and I had suffered a divorce the prior year. I was spiritually drained from having to forgive and forgive and forgive and forgive, My ex-husband had put me through hell and everyday there was something new for which I had to forgive him. The financial burdens of being a single mother were overwhelming me and I was learning to trust God for every little thing. Through it all I learned that I was DEPENDENTLY Wealthy for I depended on God.

There was this one night that I was very "tired". I was spiritually, physically, and emotionally depleted. I felt compelled to pull into a church where they were having a service. I had never been to this church before and I did not know they were "Pentecostal". I wasn't there to be "slain in the spirit" I was there to be around God's people and to draw strength from The Holy Spirit.

I sat through the service and I do not remember anything that was preached that night. What I remember is at the end they had said "If you need prayer come forward" and almost everyone in attendance went forward. I needed prayer real bad and I also went forward to the front. I was standing there as some/most were praying in tongues and some were falling out on the floor. I sensed someone behind me who was waiting to catch me when I "fell" and it was real weird. I remember hearing someone say "just go with it" not understanding what they meant. What is crystal clear in my memory of that night is the Holy Spirit within me saying "Having done all, STAND".

I didn't fall. I was not "slain in the spirit". I just stood there. I heard a couple of people near me say things like "she must have sin in her life", like I wasn't "good enough" to have that "special" experience.

What I thought I needed was someone to join me in prayer for strength to endure the hardships I was facing. I was raised Methodist and gave my heart and life to Jesus in a Southern Baptist Church. My first experience praying in the Spirit was in the vestibule of that very same Southern Baptist Church (that is another story for another day) and I was clueless to the Pentecostal practice of "being slain in the spirit". I have never had that "experience". I have been knocked to my knees by the Holy Spirit. (That is another long story), but that night as I STOOD there seeking God's strength, I was flooded with a peace that only comes from God.

As I was leaving, someone stopped me and pressed a folded one hundred dollar bill in my hand saying God told them to give that to me. They hugged me and I left. What I was lacking that day was the money to pay a bill and I had been stressing over it. What I learned was that God can make a way where there seems to be no way and His Love is sufficient to sustain me.

I didn't need to be "slain in the spirit". I needed to be obedient to The Holy Spirit's direction to pull into THAT church THAT night because He had prepared the way to meet my need by preparing the heart of another to give to someone they had never met.

Tiz true..

I did not Know God in the teenage days, but I believe God. Later on when I came and stayed with my Granny .I have seen her many times reading the bible.I yearned to know about God and Jesus. I prayed to God. Later granny prayed for and said that God would speak to me.I had dreams and Jesus started talking to me. I came asking to God to show more about him.I know Jesus is the saviour. If u don't t receive the holy spirit anointing we are useless.Pray to god and receive holy spirit.

you know what the best exsperence is meeting Christ the one who sheed his blood and died to save me. and having my sins forgiven that is the greatist thing that can happen to a man. jest reciving the love of God and what he has done for us through hhis Son Jesus Christ. who lov
