Hidden Gifts
A family of four sat around a Christmas tree on Christmas morning
Jake was sixteen was so hoping dad would get him that mustang
While Sally at age two didn’t really care what she got
They we’re down to the last two gifts one size was shape of a book
The other a big box which went to Sally the book went to Jake, with
Disappointment Jake slammed it down and ran never heard the keys
While Sally looked up from inside the big box content with the peanuts
Not even looking at the same size doll that was inside just happy with
The box filled with hope and joy to her
How many of us have looked at life and come out raged with disappointment
Just because God didn’t give us what we truly wanted and so dropped what
Was given to us and ran the other way if only would have looked
Yes many know the story like Jake of finding the book after dad had passed
Opening the book inside the Bible finding the keys of his mustang inside with
The letter telling how proud His dad was of him But, don't forget about Sally
How many of us look for what's inside and wanting more instead of being
Satisfied and content and thanking the Lord for the peanuts to jump in joy
For just being alive and feeling the Love of the Lord with laughter in a box
Two hidden gifts two different meanings, but come to the same point
Look for the good in the disappointments, look for the good instead
Give thanks for everything that happens in your life good or bad
When thanking the good Lord for taking your sight or the one you loved home
You will finally see the hidden gifts that He wanted you to have since day one
He wants you to have His eyes to see the Home he’s made for you
Long ago there was a place that looked like a barn on the outside
But on the inside lay in a manger the greatest gift for all who belived
The hidden gift so many fail to see, those that do find eternal life
