Hello all, my name is Olivia. I am a non-believer, not because I don't want to believe, I am just struggling with it.

I'm a nursing student and have always loved science so that is one of the things that holds me back.

My mother and father are both Christians and pray for me often that I will accept Jesus into my heart.

I joined in hope that maybe If I surround myself with believers and read what they have to say maybe something will click.

Hello Olivia my name is Robert I am new on here but I have been a believer all my life.
I think it is great that you love science so do I. There is something you should know about though. There are creation scientists also and they have a very different story to tell. Their story fits perfectly with the bible and a earth that is really very young. You really owe it to yourself to look at the evidence and proof that we were created to have fellowship with the one made us. Hello all, my name is Olivia. I am a non-believer, not because I don't want to believe, I am just struggling with it.

One cannot just decide to believe as God must reveal the truth to you. Ask him to lead you to him in prayer, I did and it took 5 years but he revealed to my heart that Jesus is the Son of God who died for my sin that I might live by walking as he walked when he was here. Walking in the light. I had to wait 5 years from the time I asked for his help.

I'm a nursing student and have always loved science so that is one of the things that holds me back.

You don't have to give up science completely. Only the stuff based on unproven theories where mans imagination has taken him for a ride. Much of what we call science today is solid knowledge that can be proven. A small segment that gets blown out of proportion is just plain fantasy.

This is part of the believing process. The receiving of Jesus as both Lord and Savior. You cannot have one without the other. Israel rejected him as King, therefore God has given the power to become his child to anyone who will receive him as King.

I joined in hope that maybe If I surround myself with believers and read what they have to say maybe something will click.

I did many things on my journey to coming to know God. This is a good idea to come here to see what is available. Don't swing at the first pitch though. You may find yourself believing the wrong thing.

I sometimes get so confused whenever even thinking about God and how our earth was created.

So.... I'll list a few things that I wonder about and would love to hear from you all.

1. There is no end to space, it goes on and on and on, there must be life somewhere else and do they have the same beliefs because the bible was found here on our earth. Is there more than one God, did each one create their own solar system?

2. The way our bodies work is AMAZING, how else, but from a higher power do these millions and millions of different cells decide to form a structure and not only work together but rely on each other for life and for our brain to control them all. It's blows my mind away and I have no explanation for it.

3. How did Noah round up two of every animal? I'm talking about even animals that weren't even in the same country.

4. If Eve was made from Adam's rib, then why don't men have less ribs than women?

Maybe I just over think things. It doesn't help that hardly any of my friends are believers and so I don't really have anyone to talk about it with without being preached too instead of someone really sitting down with me and explaining these things to me.

I've read a student bible when I went to Florida for a trip. It was an amazing read and I couldn't put it down. I've tried reading the Bible itself, but I get lost in it's words.

Thank you all for your understanding of my struggle.

By the way.. I'm 29 with 2 kids myself. I'm raising them to believe in Christ, but sometimes it's hard to explain things to them when I don't understand them fully myself.

That is the fascinating thing. All of those planets, stars etc...and no life except on our little blue planet. The bible wasn't found on earth. It was written on earth. Men who were filled with the Holy Spirit of God the Father were moved by him as they spoke so that they said what he wanted said.

Their is only one true God, though there be many that are called gods. Only the true God created anything and he did it through his son Jesus.

2. Not only our bodies but the bodies of all living creatures....AMAZING. What is more amazing is that is how we are made up outside of the carnal body and mind. We have a soul, which is who we are, the part that needs salvation. We have a spirit, which is on loan from God, that keeps us alive. The body without the spirit is dead. And of course we have a body. Our body has a thing called 'sin' dwelling in it that wants to rule over us. We have a heart, which is the part that Satan has access to, that he tries to fill with all kinds of garbage using his messengers who are fallen angels. We fight against an enemy we can't even see. Our carnal mind is enmity against God but we can serve God in the spirit of our mind which is different. And believe it or not, all of that fascinating stuff that you observe in the carnal body working together to sustain life are also used in spirit or unseen realm too.

The bible says that God told them to go to Noah.

Adam would have been the one missing a rib. If I gave away one of my kidneys then had another child, my child wouldn't be born with only one kidney.

It is very easy to over think everything. Your not alone. Remember, all of your thoughts are not your own. Some come from the spirit realm and wish to lead you astray so that you will continue to serve Satan's purpose instead of the God who created you.

The bible had that effect on me at first too. I'd get lost in the words. I had very low reading comprehension levels but by studying the bible I have actually improved in that area. It takes time. Be gentle on yourself. One needs to ask God to reveal the truth of the bible to them anyway as the carnal mind can't comprehend spiritual words. Why do you think we have so many denominations? Carnality.

I'm 40 with 4 and I am raising them to believe in Christ through my living out what the bible teaches about following Jesus Christ. They see the truth regardless what you tell them. As you grow and learn so will they.

I will most def. check out that website, as for reading a book right now, it's next to impossible. In my second semester of Nursing school and I'm non-stop reading, but I will write the title down and read it as soon as I have a break.

I will commend you for one reason alone - you are here because you're looking for God.

Instead of searching for Him, you have to simply notice his presence. That's a completely and utterly confusing thing for someone to say, but it's true. Being a nursing student you're familiar with first-responder actions. If you notice someone having the symptoms of a heart attack, you can respond and get that person medical help fast - but you do it because you actually care if that person lives. That caring, that compassion to help another is God speaking to you. You can ignore them, but would it sit right with you?

God reveals himself to you, you just gotta open up and listen.

But, I digress. It would probably be a good idea to listen to the forum moderators, Chad, and I highly recommend talking with Rev T.S.Perkins when he's in chat. He's awesome.
