Hello my name is Tim. As the title states I am new to this forum and struggling. It has taken me a couple of weeks to work up the courage to make this first post. This is the first time I have ever opened up about my faith to any one but God. I grew up going to church but never really knew or fully accepted Jesus. I reacently accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior about a year ago. Of course I have had drastic ups and downs since then. I am struggling with many things but most importantly some self doubt in regards to my faith and salvation. I pray that this forum will be a positive experience for me.

Hey Tim, welcome to the family.

Dont worry about the negative thoughts, instead focus on who you are in Christ, and the freedom you have.

I hope you enjoy the forums, and the fellowship.
Feel free to pm me .
God bless.

Hey Tim, Welcome to Talk Jesus. I hope this website is a blessing to you. Study your Bible and pray daily with a humble heart. These things will help you get closer to God and defeat the lies of the devil. If you believe in your heart what Jesus did for you and who He is, then you're saved from Hell and there ain't nothing the devil or anyone else can do about it.

God Bless

Romans 10:9
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." KJV

Hi brother Tim. I'm confident the Holy Spirit led you here so you can be edified and built up in faith in Christ. GOD has led many here for that purpose. You will be blessed. Your part is to be faithful and willing to receive teachings, humbly.

Check out these encouraging threads. They will blow you away!

TimK, Welcome to TalkJesus. Feel free to ask your questions. The fact that you have a searching heart shows that you are saved. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must first believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Welcome tim,we all go through the ups and downs of being a Christian.I know i do!But we just have to put our faith in the Lord and He will get us through anything!God Bless:love:

the lord says he is with you

God bless you tim, I had a similar experience and I would like to share it with you, even though I was born in a christian home, I never experimented a real relationship with God until the same God began to work on me, I know that it is very difficult to leave all the things that you could have been involved in when you are away from God, but in Matthew 28:20 the lord says that He is with you always, to the very end of the age and that´s what you have to believe, there are some things that are healed and changed only his presence, so I invite you to get close to God as your Father.

Why do I tell you this?
because sometimes we loose our ID as children of God and our mind is full of lies, but the Lord want us to b healed, free, restored and filled with the Holy spirit.

Remember:
he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.Philippians 1:6

Love in christ,

your bro

Thank you all very much. You are absolutely right columbiandavid when you said it is difficult to leave all of the worldly things I have been involved in. I have been able to let go of a lot of the worldy things in my life, but I am still struggling with other things. I love that verse from Phillipians by the way, I repeate it in my head every now and then.

Did you ever notice that when we are running and looking backward, we are prone to tripping and falling? But, when we are facing forward and focused on a target in front of us, we do a better job of staying upright and reaching our goal?

My advice for you is wrapped up in the opening verse of an old hymn: "Turn your eyes upon Jesus; look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace."
