My name is Corey Peters. I am a Husband, Father, and a Teacher/Coach at a Jr. High School in Cedar Falls Iowa. God has been so wonderful to me through the years. Bringing me out of a broken home. Helping me get a scholarship to pay for my college. Placing me in Waterloo Iowa teaching students at an alternative High School. So many great students with tough backgrounds. I loved that job. God called me to move to Cedar Falls. It was a tough move, but I am starting to see why. I now teach at a Jr. High and I started a Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Through God's grace He has allowed me to tell many students the good news and provide money for me to hand out nearly 80 Bibles just this year. We have had over 100 students give their lives to Christ. I am not one to sit and meet in our four walls once every other week and call it good. We go on many outreaches. We go on laundromat outreaches. We bring quarters, soap, fabric softener, and most important the Love of Jesus to people in there. We also help with a single Mothers banquet where we partner with a local church to bring in Single Mothers and their families from the area shelters. They are treated to prizes and a great meal.
I also have a group that goes out on the streets to pray for people every Thursday night. The stories that God has provided are unbelievable. He opens many doors for us in very high crime areas. We also go to the area university to talk to students about Jesus. We are not putting a religious spin on anything. Just preaching the Love of Jesus Christ. I started recording testimonies of both groups in a Blog. I try to post every week. I am hoping to put a few on here to uplift people and hopefully have people inspired to take steps of faith to go out and Love people in His name. Anyway I am glad to be a part of Talk Jesus!!

Hello,

I am from a strong religious christian background as my grandparents are well known evangelicals... I was forced to go to church as a kid and shunned out of my grandparents church and made an example of by them because I didn't fit " their mold" ... I spent years hating god for this ... after I lost my mother to cancer I hated god even more... that is until one day I stumbled in the church where I attend now... I learned that God loves us for who we are.. I learned about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ without all the old fashioned rules created by religion... this is how I became saved... I have tattoos , long hair , cuss sometimes. but I'm real... and really in Love with God. and all he has shown me.... I talk about Jesus with people who alot of people would normally pass on the street... as it is easy for me to approach them because I am them.... I come from the gutters of society where there is a whole lost generation that has been shunned because of how we look and act... and I speak up to people instead of standing on a podium speaking down..... I love showing people the love of Jesus through being myself.... whether I am walking down the street in a tank top and shorts... or in a mosh pit dancing like crazy....

God works through me and I finally was able to understand that...

that is my testimony .. I look forward to adding alot more to this site once I get a feel for it...

Thanks all others for welcoming me. I will start posting my Blog. I have been writing every week on my own Blog. God is Amazing and He is doing some great things around here. Hard to believe every night we go out something new and exciting is happening. People are getting excited to be Christians again. So fun. I posted a story on our first outing where I ran into a Burmese refugee family. Just happened to knock on their door. Funny how God works. Couldn't speak English, but we were able to provide furniture and clothing to prepare them for this winter. Such great people out there waiting for someone to tell them the Truth in Love!
