This world is not my home, I am just passing through.
Now sir, that is a lovely song but it just plain is not true!
This world will be my home, for all eternity.
Read Revelation 21 and 22 and then you will see.
For this world will be renewed, New Jerusalem will come down.
Will it float there in heaven? No, it will be on the ground.
Previous things will pass away, but a new Earth will take its place.
It will be a world of matter, not a cloudy void in outer space.
For you will have a resurrected body to enjoy the wonders there.
Not a resurrected ghost, trying to live upon the air.
“Look I am making everything new, write because these words are true!”
That’s what Jesus said, and that’s what He will do!
A city made of gold, gems and jewels, they are all such solid things.
Fit for all eternity to be the home of the King of Kings.
God will live on Earth, in person! He will not go away.
And we will live there with Him after Judgment Day.
The trees of life each month will grow a new kind of fruit
None of whom, I’m happy to relate, will taste like an old dead boot!
The river of life will slake your thirst, but wait, there’s so much more!
All of Earth will be there too, growing things to eat and drink by the score!
Nations producing their goods, to bring to the Capitol as gifts or trade.
People of New Earth are happy as clams to show the things they have made.
Read the prophets, for pity’s sake! We won’t sit around playing harps on cloudy things!
But ruling, living on and using the Earth to grow, raise and produce for our Glorious King.
Some of us will rule cities, others nations, a few perhaps just a village or farm.
The inhabitants have to be doing something, not sitting there to give the view some charm!
It’s like going to the opera, and watching the overture, and before the curtains even go up,
Shaking your head and walking away saying “I done seen it all, yup, yup.”
People get the same idea of Heaven and the after life state.
They read the account of the first few hours of the eternal fate.
They see people and angels at the opening celebration fling
And are sure that that is the entirety of the afterlife thing.
But eternity is always growing, His Kingdom will not sit still.
It will grow forever with new planets and galaxies to fill.
