He Showed Me the Way (poem)

[Stiggy]

in a world full of darkeness,
I saw the light,
the lord came to me,
and changed my life.

I didn't know him then,
but he made a way,
he showed me love,
and saved the day.

I thought about death,
I had given up hope,
he rebuilt my heart,
and showed me how to cope.

something was missing, and
he filled the gap in my soul,
i am now complete,
now I am whole.

a blind man I was,
a man accustomed to night,
and he came into my heart
and opened my eyes.

God told me the truth
he wouldn't let me fall
he showed me his love
the best gift of all.

the last stanza really hit me. It's so easy to forget that God loves us, but that's really the most important thing to remember.
