Hello Craig!

I have gone through patches like this, i think everybody does at some time or another.

There are so many ways to study and read Gods word, not all of them work for everyone and certainly there are seasons when a good long study on a particular topic works for me for months and a different season when being still and reading a one liner and meditating on it is better for me.

Sometimes i find it best to think about what is going on in my life at the moment. Is there something i am struggling with? Is God trying to teach me something? and then i start from there to study scripture.

I'd take a concordance, look up a key word to do with my difficulty (anxious etc) and read one scripture each day. I soon got into it because it was relevant to my immediate circumstances.

I hope this suggestion helps, if not others will soon post you theirs. There are a host of good people at talk Jesus with lots of inspiration!

God Bless

Also you know the scripture: Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Well! I have several different Bibles on Tapes and CDs. Most of them are from Christian Duplications.

Also I fined having a computer bible, pocket size is a great way to follows God's inspiration when they come to you.

God bless you Craig. Strangely someone else posted a simliiar thread today, but more on how to study the Word of GOD without distraction. This is pretty much similiar.

Here is my suggested list of possible remedies:

1. Pray to GOD for guidance and seek wisdom
2. Read earlier in the day when you feel wide awake, refreshed, even when you wake up. Hint yourself with some caffeine if your body is not allergic or weak to it.
3. Put yourself in a quiet beautiful environment, like by the fireplace, backyard at night or local coffee shop/cafe (some are obviously not quiet enoug)
4. Read Christian books. There are so many awesome books at there. Some recommended authors are Joyce Meyers, Joel Osteen, Max Lucado, Billy Graham, John C Maxwell to name a few.
5. Try reading a different translation of the Bible, especially devotional bibles.
6. Like Yeshua said, pocket bible is a great idea.. Keep one in the car as well.
7. Theosebes suggestion as well, use concordence. That'll keep you busy and a new place in your studies / readings.
