I walk upon the desert
Feet burning through the soles of my shoes
No water to be seen
Have mercy


I reflect what I have done to you
My blood stained soul
Is not worthy of your love
I bow my head
Tears begin to flow
Have mercy


Legs aching
I can not go on
Layers peeling
Stripped from self
Have mercy


I fall to my knees
Face down in the sand
I begin to fade away
I feel Him near by
Have mercy


I look towards the Light
He gently touches me
I feel wetness upon my cracked lips
From the palm of His hand


He lifts me up
And begins to carry me within His arms
I look into His love filled eyes
I can not speak
My heart is pierced with gratitude
As He carries me the rest of the way

lately, been thinking to write a poem "I Am the Tax Collector, Have Mercy on Me" but can't just devote my time to really write. Some of the passages on the post we're already there ringing within me. It's a nice reflection. Thanks for posting it here....:star::star:

I think everyone goes through a desert experience during their Christian walk,mine lasted two years, and we have a choice of going on with God or going back to what we were, this poem describes it perfectly.
