Eph 2:8-9
(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Bible says we have been saved by grace. This is very straightforward talk as Paul elobrates it's not of works or ourselves but truly it's Grace that has saved us. Of course through faith however, because we must believe in Jesus to be saved.
This is actually most important word regarding our salvation, Grace. Bible in new testament letters to churchers and even in book of revelations talks how believer has Grace.
Rom 16:24, 2Co 13:14, 2Th 3:18, Php 4:23, Heb 13:25, Rev 22:21
each of these verses contain a wish that Grace would be with us all.
What does grace mean then? When Paul said in Eph 2:8-9 that we are saved by grace he was actually going through the definition of Grace.

Paul was actually telling us salvation is not of works because Grace means Favor. It also means a Gift.
That's why paul probably said what he did, it was an elaboration about meaning of the word Grace.
So by this (Grace) we are saved and covered in our life. Grace also includes Liberality and it's thanks-worthy and pleasure.
Thank God for His amazing Gift of Salvation by Grace.

by faith. And HE even gave us the faith to receive it. Then HE gave us HIS faith to walk in HIM. Pretty cool hey?
