Good News for Tough Times
Text: Mathew 8:23-27
In life we can often be faced with tough times. The storms of life can weigh us down. I found these verses in the Bible helpful to me, and I am happy to share them with you all.
The Bible explains how we can deal with those times.
Some Biblical facts about storms
1. Storms are inevitable.
“When you face trials…” James 1:2
2. Storms are unpredictable.
“Without warning a furious storm came up.” Mathew 8:24
3. Storms are impartial.
“He sends the rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Mathew 5:45
Where Do You Get Peace In A Storm?
1. Remember….God is with you.
“Then He got into the boat and His disciples followed Him”. Mathew 8:23
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass throught the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” Isaiah 43:1-2
2. Remember….God cares.
“The disciples said to Him ‘Teacher don’t You care if we drown?”
Mark 4:38
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
3. Remember ….God is in control.
“Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” Mark 4:39
“Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You.” Jeremiah 32:17
4. Remember ….the promise of God.
One day Jesus said to his disciples,” Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. Luke 8:22
“Then the men were amazed and asked,” What kind of man is this? Even the winds and waves obey Him.”
Jesus can be trusted in the storms of life.
