I want to share with you a story. It's not just any story, but a story about God's Amazing Grace. It's not unlike other stories of salvation, in fact it is very similar, with one thing in common. We all now have eternal life! Yes that's right.
I was on a path of destruction, like many other people in this world. I had sin in many areas of my life, and as a result, was suffering the consequences, within my marriage, my homelife, my friendships, my finances, and other areas too numerous to mention.
Looking in from the outside, my life just seemed like an normal life, but what a lot of people didn't know was that I was desperately unhappy, continually searching for what was missing, and experiencing struggle after struggle, with things going from bad to worse.
I did not know what was missing - it was just a general knowing that something was not right. I searched, like many others, into the New Age, looking and learning about many things that I have since learned are an abomination to God, such as Tarot, Numerology, Astrology and the like. I really actually believed that I was on the right track and through all of these so-called 'teachings', I would some day be able to help people! Can you believe that!
One day, I met a woman, who has now become a very dear friend and prayer partner, and since the day we started talking, nothing has been the same! I was led on a journey of transformation, and was at some point, baptised in the Holy Spirit. We have a Bible study together once a week, and the Lord leads us according to His agenda for that week. I have been a born again Christian since about 2006, and was baptised in the Holy Spirit.
I am not kidding when I say that every area of my life has been transformed! I have received blessings and miracles that are too numerous to mention here. God showed me His great mercy, love and grace even before I came to my senses. He allowed me certain blessings and privileges despite the fact that I was still initially sitting on the fence so to speak. I guess He knew my heart and that I would eventually see the error of my ways. God is very gracous!
It has been in my heart for a long time to some day be able to help people. I wasn't sure how, but I just knew that I wanted to. I was talking out loud to God one day, asking and pleading with Him "When am I going to be able to help people?" Then the answer came "When the gates of truth are open." "What gates of truth?" I asked.
My friend and prayer partner had sent me a video all about the New Age and the dangers of these practices, and for a while it just sat there. I thought, yeah one day I suppose I'll look at that one. Then one night, the Holy Spirit spoke to me (I believe) and said 'You are about to wake up."
The next morning, I couldn't figure out why, but I was almost in a frenzy and I just HAD to watch that DVD. I watched it and just looked on in disbelief! I actually backed away from it saying "No way, no way!" How could I have been so wrong. The Holy Spirit convicted me, and it was then that I was no longer sitting on the fence as they say. I loaded up the car boot with all the new age books and I haven't looked back! Praise God that He sent someone to help rescue me.
I started to 'hear' the Holy Spirit more and more, and began around last October, writing down messages and advice about my own life, and sometimes for my friends. Of course, they are not my words, as there is no way that I could make all that up. I have followed the advice as much as I have been able, and to my delight, different areas of my life have been restored and are still being restored to the potential of what they could have been had I not been in sin in the first place!
One night, I awoke from my sleep and I heard the Lord speak to me. I believe He said, "Calling everyone who wants to help the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth." I sat up and I must have looked surprised because He then said "That includes you!." He has a good sense of humour even in the middle of the night! I took a pen, note book and my Bible, and sat down and prayed "Speak Lord your servant is listening." Then the words came "These writings are the foundation of your new beginnings - humble beginnings." Thus began a wonderful journey.
The first writing is called the Power of His Word, and I have been given others according to whatever topic is next on the agenda. It is His voice, His words, His guidance and His teachings, and I am merely the pen for Him. I believe the Holy Spirit annoints me with the words, and I obediently put them to paper to the best of my ability. It's amazing grace with love from the heart of God.
The writings are all an indication of my personal journey and learnings and I hope to share them with you through this forum. They all have Bible references and all help give encouragement and hope to the reader.
