God can use anything and anybody to accomplish His purpose. So, how bad do you want to be used by God? First, you need to be available, and second, you need to make sure your life is clean and obedient before Him. The moment you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within your spirit to help you live for God. He immediately began to place a desire in your heart and mind to serve Him. He already has specific things He wants you to do for Him, things He had in mind for you before you were even born. Seems amazing, doesn't it? It is amazing! God will not force you to serve Him. He gives you the desire and you choose whether you want to pursue it. He will not be mad at you if you decide not to serve Him. But, if you do choose the way He's put on your heart to serve Him, you will be walking in His perfect will for your life. You will experience His presence and joy like never before. You will feel a sense of peace, satisfaction and contentment. Once He gives you the desire, He will begin to equip you for service.
God put a desire in some of you a long time ago. You know deep inside your heart that He wants to use you, but you're letting the ways of the world stop you. You're afraid of failure. God will not let you fail at something He's called you to do. You're afraid of what your family or friends will think. God will show you how to deal with them. So, how bad do you want to be used by God? He is so ready to use you! He is so ready to fill your life with more of His presence. He is so ready to give you a sense of peace, satisfaction and contentment that you can only find in Him. When you're walking in God's perfect will, you will know the true meaning of life.
Many Christians pick and choose how they want to serve God. I'm sure God is pleased with any way we decide to serve and glorify Him. But, we're not suppose to choose the way we want to serve Him. He has already set in motion the way each of us are to serve Him. He knows your heart, your personality, the gifts and skills He's given you, and He wants to use you the best way you will be able to accomplish His will, not your will on earth. You have to surrender to His will, how He wants you to work for Him, how He wants you to bring Him glory. People who serve God the way they want to serve Him; they're the ones who receive the glory, not God.
So what are you waiting on? All born again believers know how God wants to use them. Are you going to let the world, the flesh, and the devil keep you from walking in God's perfect will for your life? As a born again believer, the world, the flesh, and the devil don't have any control over me anymore. I'm free to live for God! He had a plan for me and now I'm walking in it! Galatians 2:20-I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. He gave Himself for me, I give myself to Him. I am an instrument for Him to use while I'm here on earth. It's never about me! He put me here on earth to be used by Him in the way He planned for me. Psalm 37:4-Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Many Christians misunderstand this verse. When Christ came to live in me, He gave me a new heart. This new heart in me loves the Lord. My new heart delights in the Lord. My new heart wants to serve Him. My new heart wants to please Him. He gave me the desires of my heart, my new heart, the one that is now full of His desires for me. It's amazing grace!
Lord, when You come to live in our hearts, You will show us how You want to use us. Give us the courage to step out in faith and live for You.
