This above scripture verse speaks to an idea introduced yesterday. Foolish people proclaimed that God was fictional so they weren’t responsible for their sin. When they broke God’s law, their actions proclaimed, “It doesn’t matter because God doesn’t exist, and if He doesn’t exist then I have nothing to worry about.”
If you’ve entertained that thought, then it might be time to entertain these thoughts—God is real, even if you refuse to believe. You’ve broken His law, even if you don’t think it applies to you.
The people in the towns where Jesus spoke were eyewitnesses to miracles. They heard His words yet gave a spiritual yawn while looking for anything else to fill their time. They accepted a little entertainment but refused to engage the core of their being into quality decision-making.
You can feel the same way, can’t you? You can enjoy music about God but never really honor the One who is the object of the song. You can feel a connection to God objects without worshipping God. Don’t let that happen to you. Don’t miss out the blessing in honoring God from the heart.
Prayer: Lord, I don’t want to be someone who thinks of You as a showman. I want to be someone who thinks of You as the only One worthy of my praise and adoration.
