God, is the God of Patience

Romans 15 : 5 (4) Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

(4) We must take an example of patience from God: that both the weak and the strong, serving God with a mutual consent, may bring one another to God, as Christ also received us to himself, although we were ever so unworthy.

I am so glad that God has the patience that he has ! I think if God had my patience He would have killed everything on this earth and recreated it again until it was perfect as he wanted to . But lucky God is not like that God has just the right temperament and patience that we as Christians !

I know out of my experience that I do not have allot of patience ! It is so hard for me not to get angry with my 3 month old daughter when she screams and shouts with out stopping and I can't figure out why ! By the end of the day my wife just picks her up pats her on the back and there you go a burp was stuck somewhere .

God has made as all different in a lot of ways , but also the same in others . If we where all the same I think this word would have been a boring place to be . We would not have worried about people making you angry or loosing your patience’s with one and other . That is why God has created each and every one of us uniquely as we are , yes we tumble a couple of times but we learn not to do that again the next time .

So I have decided not to loose my temper that quickly as it does and I will try and have more patience ! I know Satan will put stumble ling blocks in my way and I will stumble a couple of times before I will get it right , I must just keep my eyes on God and He will lead me through the temptation’s lying ahead .

I have decided that I am going to praise God all the time , after watching the movie Facing The Giants I realized that he was right when he said we need to praise God if we win and we need to praise God when we loose . So that is what I am going to do from now on if it goes well the day I am going to thank God for the wonderful day if it goes bad I will thank God for the day because there was a lesson to be learned that day .

Christ , a Example of Patience

Isaiah 53 : 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he (k) opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

(k) But willingly and patiently obeyed his father's appointment,

Acts 8 : 32 (12) The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

(12) Those things which seem to come most by chance or fortune (as men term it) are governed by the secret providence of God.

Matthew 27 : 14 But Jesus said absolutely nothing to him in reply, so the governor was very surprised.

If we read the following couple of verses we see that when Jesus patience was tested He kept He’s mouth shut . Why would He do such a thing ?

Well if I have to give an example out of my life , then I would use the knowledge I received in those years when I was a bouncer . I came to learn that we as bouncers need to have patience’s ( and a lot of it ) , we also needed to keep our mouth shut when someone was being nasty with us and calling us names . I have learned when a person loses his patience’s he says things to other people that he does not mean ( Drunk or sober People ) .

I have decided that before I get angry and lose my patience’s , I will have to think what if I was that other person how would that person feel when I accuse him of something . Then you will come to realize that it is not going to feel nice being attacked like that out of the blue with No reason , so make sure of your facts before accusing someone and saying things you will feel bad about later .

So yes to keep your mouth shut will sometimes be the best thing to do wait a day and then decided is it worth it to go and accuse the person of something ! By that time you will have realized that it was not worth to have lost your patience’s over . And if it was worth it , it will be to late to do something about it and you would have won the battle with out fighting .

Trials of saints lead to Patience

Romans 5 : 3 - (4) And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: (5) knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

(4) Tribulation itself gives us different and various occasions to rejoice, and more than this it does not make us miserable. (5) Afflictions make us use to being patient, and patience assures us of the goodness of God, and this experience confirms and fosters our hope, which never deceives us.

James 1 : 3 (3) Knowing [this], that the (d) trying of your faith worketh patience.

(3) The second, because patience, a surpassing and most excellent virtue, is brought about in us by this means.

(d) That by this your faith is tried, that is, those various temptations.

Well the title says it all , the trail we go thru will give us the patience God wants us to have . I realize that it is not as easy as 123 fall out of the bed type of thing , we do not always understand why we are put thru these trails at that stage . It seems to us that God is punishing us , for something we might have done . I read something the other day that opened my eyes a bit and funny enough it fall right into place with this teaching .

What's wrong with me? When I'm sick I get grumpy and irritable. When I'm criticised I become defensive. When people interrupt me I become impatient. I get angry at injustice. Waiting in lines, and bureaucratic runarounds make me feel I'm wasting my life.
I've had a few good days. Days when I caught up on the ironing, my eczema cleared up, I managed to write a few letters, got top marks on an assignment, and finished with an enjoyable game of Scrabble.
I try to pray on the bad days, but my prayers don't get anywhere. On good days I feel aglow with the presence of God. Why can't I have more good days?
But I've been thinking that maybe my 'good' days are the 'blah' ones spiritually... holidays from the business of growing in love. Maybe in God's record book points are only scored on the horrible days when nothing seems to go right. Sure, I lost my temper, but I lasted 15 seconds longer than the previous time, and thus got 15 points overall. Whereas I got nothing for the day when everything went right. It was just a rest between battles.
James 1:2-3 says, "Rejoice when you fall into various temptations, knowing that trials teach patience."
It's not that I should go looking for battles. Even the Lord's payer says I should pray that I not be put to the test spiritually. The good days are something to be thankful for. Without them, I would never make it. And I Corinthians 10:13 says one way to win battles is to run away from them.
But I can't run from all of them. And when I find myself in the middle of a test I cannot escape from, it pays to remember that this is a great opportunity to brush up on discipline, grow in patience, expand my ability to love. And the lessons I learn in the middle of these battles will count for all eternity.
On the test days I find out just how unspiritual I am; but that's good for my pride too. The main thing is to do a little better than last time. If I do, perhaps God will see it and note my progress.
But I'm probably boring you with all this, since this is my special problem. Or is it?

I am the same way I can very inpatient at times. I have been working on that and with Gods help I can be a better person. I am thankful that God has been patient with me though I did not deserve it.

Patience

pā´shens (ὑπομονή, hupomonḗ, μακροθυμία, makrothumía): “Patience” implies suffering, enduring or waiting, as a determination of the will and not simply under necessity. As such it is an essential Christian virtue to the exercise of which there are many exhortations. We need to “wait patiently” for God, to endure uncomplainingly the various forms of sufferings, wrongs and evils that we meet with, and to bear patiently injustices which we cannot remedy and provocations we cannot remove.
The word “patience” does not occur in the Old Testament, but we have “patiently” in Psa_40:1 as the translation of ḳāwāh, “to wait,” “to expect,” which word frequently expresses the idea, especially that of waiting on God; in Psa_37:7, “patiently” (“wait patiently”) is the translation of ḥul, one of the meanings of which is “to wait” or “to hope for” or “to expect” (of Job_35:14); “patient” occurs (Ecc_7:8) as the translation of 'erekh rūaḥ, “long of spirit,” and (Job_6:11) “that I should be patient” (ha'ărīkh nephesh). Compare “impatient” (Job_21:4).
“Patience” occurs frequently in the Apocrypha, especially in Ecclesiasticus, e.g. 2:14; 16:13; 17:24; 41:2 (hupomonē); 5:11 (makrothumia); 29:8 (makrothuméō, the Revised Version (British and American) “long suffering”); in The Wisdom of Solomon 2:19, the Greek word is anexikakía.
In the New Testament hupomonē carries in it the ideas of endurance, continuance (Luk_8:15; Luk_21:19; Rom_5:3, Rom_5:4, the American Standard Revised Version “stedfastness”; Rom_8:25, etc.).
In all places the American Revised Version margin has “stedfastness,” except Jam_5:11, where it has “endurance”; makrothumia is translated “patience” (Heb_6:12; Jam_5:10); makrothumeō, “to bear long” (Mat_18:26, Mat_18:29; Jam_5:7; See LONGSUFFERING); the same verb is translated “be patient” (1Th_5:14, the Revised Version (British and American) “longsuffering”; Jam_5:7, Jam_5:8, the King James Version and the Revised Version (British and American) “patient”); makrothúmōs, “patiently” (Act_26:3); hupoménō (1Pe_2:20); anexíkakos is translated “patient” (2Ti_2:4, the Revised Version (British and American), the King James Version margin, “forbearing”); epieikḗs, “gentle” (1Ti_3:3, the Revised Version (British and American) “gentle”); hupomenō (Rom_12:12, “patient in tribulation”). For “the patient waiting for Christ” (2Th_3:5), the Revised Version (British and American) has “the patience of Christ.”
Patience is often hard to gain and to maintain, but, in Rom_15:5, God is called “the God of patience” (the American Revised Version margin “stedfastness”) as being able to grant that grace to those who look to Him and depend on Him for it. It is in reliance on God and acceptance of His will, with trust in His goodness, wisdom and faithfulness, that we are enabled to endure and to hope stedfastly.
