When Jesus walked the earth, He sometimes healed the sick people by speaking to them. Other times He laid His hands on them. Today, much of our healing comes to pass due to a process. Jesus told the blind man to go wash in the pool of Siloam and he did and came back seeing.-John 9:7. The word "Siloam" means "Sent." So the man went where he was sent, he washed, and he came back seeing! We have a part to play in our healing. God will always give us an instruction as part of the healing process. We are to follow that instruction. That instruction will be the pathway to our healing.
You may need healing in your physical body, or maybe you are still struggling with an old habit. All of us have areas in which we need God's healing power. How often do we give in to resentment, pride, lust, greed, gossip, etc.? The list is endless, yet God always has just the right prescription. The question is, are we willing to follow the prescribed instructions? In the natural, when the doctor prescribes us medicine, we are careful to follow the directions written on the container. We should be able to follow the directions of the Holy Spirit as He shows us what to do.
God can supernaturally heal and deliver people from an old habit (delivered me from cigarettes). Even though God heals people demonstrating His miracle working power; sometimes we've just got to follow His instructions and walk out our mess, until we get to the place of healing, freedom, and deliverance.
So, what do you need to remove from your life today in order to see what God wants you to see and do what He wants you to do? Whether it's a destructive habit, a toxic relationship, or a bad attitude; you must get rid of it. When we draw near to God, He draws near to us with answers. When we stay connected to God's Word, we are better able to to hear His voice and follow the prescription He's given us. Jesus said, "Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken to you."-John 15:3
Every prescription for healing we will ever need is found in the Great Physician's manual, the Bible. The secret to victorious Christian living is bathing your mind each day in Scripture. Picture yourself taking a bath in God's Word and all the dirt and grime coming off. That's what meditating on Scripture does for you. I often take an epsom bubble bath after exercising. The bath is relaxing, refreshing , and cleanses the outside of my body; but there's no comparison when it comes to the cleansing of God's Word. The bubble bath cleans the outside of my body, God's Word cleans the inside. Have you taken a "Word Bath" today? Dive in! God bless you!
Lord, as we meditate on Your Word; may we hear Your voice speak to our hearts with just the right prescription. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
