[h=3]God Cares About Your Prosperity · Sunday, March 3rd · Rhapsody of Realities 2013[/h][h=4]Pastor Anita[/h][h=5]Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem (Zechariah 1:17).[/h]
The Apostle John in 3 John 1:2 tells us it’s God’s will for His children to be prosperous. He says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." No wonder, the Lord Jesus came preaching the good news to the poor (Luke 4:18); He knew if they received the Gospel, it would catapult them from poverty to superabundance.
When God relates with us, His intention is to bring us to His level. When God meets a poor man, His intention, always, is to make him rich, and He’s been doing this from generation to generation. He specializes in turning beggars into princes: "He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes…" (1 Samuel 2:8). This is wonderful!
Furthermore, the Bible says, in Isaiah 48:17, "Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." God is saying in this scripture that He is the best Person to teach you about prosperity. He goes further to say, "O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:" (Isaiah 48:18).
The word "peace" derives from the Hebrew word "shalom," which means "the peace of prosperity and wellbeing (being in a state of perfect soundness)." The Lord is saying here that if you would only listen to Him and let Him teach you, your prosperity would be like a river such that you’d never run dry! Then like the Psalmist, you’d say, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1).
Why is the Lord interested in our prosperity? The answer is in what we read in our theme verse; the Lord said, "…my cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad…." Accordingly, He has made available to us the power to get wealth so that as His representatives on the earth, He can reach the whole world with the Gospel through us.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you, for your Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Therefore, my path is as a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. Thank you for teaching me the principles of prosperity, and for making me prosperous through the knowledge of your Word in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Here are some more scriptures to add your study.
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.6 Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer.7 We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.
2 Cor 1:3-7 (NLT)

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
Romans 8:16-17 (NLT)

27 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing side by side, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.30 We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.
Phil 1:27-30 (NLT)

10 How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me.11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.
Phil 4:10-14 (NLT)

8 Always remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of King David, was raised from the dead. This is the Good News I preach.9 And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.10 So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
11 This is a trustworthy saying:

If we die with him,

we will also live with him.
12 If we endure hardship,

we will reign with him.

If we deny him,

he will deny us.
13 If we are unfaithful,

he remains faithful,

for he cannot deny who he is.

14 Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.
2 Tim 2:8-14 (NLT)

18 You who are slaves must accept the authority of your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you—not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel.19 For God is pleased with you when you do what you know is right and patiently endure unfair treatment.20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.
21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:18-21 (NLT)

13 Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?14 But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.17 Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!
1 Peter 3:13-17 (NLT)

19 So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.
1 Peter 4:19 (NLT)

It has been brought to my attention that the person you quote from is involved in scandals and generally, not genuine.

This is part of the deceptive and false: health wealth and prosperity "gospel".

Also women should not be in the office of a pastor in the first place. 1 Timothy 3

Do not listen to them they are after your tithing rather then your growing in grace in the knowledge of GOD that comes by The Word of GOD!

There are millions in South America, Africa and outher places like Mexico, Cubia, and yes even in the United States that need to prosper. Most people when they hear this verse
3 John 1:2 think just as you and many others that prosper means wealth and living living well. This is what most people really want all over the world.

A verse taken out of context is a pretext. When this verse 1 John 1:2 is lifted out of the complete letter the point 3 John is missed. 3 John 1:2 is talking about their spiritual and physical well-being. We should not neglect our body and to be careful for our soul as a responsible christian. There is nothing whatsoever that says a single thing about superabundance!

The Health and welthfare gospel has bankrupted many people's faith. How many of the people you know in the church you go to have become "prospers"? Very often the issue these Health and Welfare preachers and teachers use to get people to start giving is called "seed faith money". The challenge is to trust God for the blessings of trusting Him to give back ito them in "superabundance". There have been a good number of false Preacher's and Teachers for instance Benny Hinn, Fred Price, Kenneth Copeland, are just a few but there are many, many more.

When making Doctrin from the Bible you can't take and lift one verse out of context and make it a proof text. The chapters before hand and afterwards must be read and see if they back the assumed doctrine. 3 John 1:2 is being taken where is just does not fit what prospers means in the verse.

You may beleive with all your heart what you have been taught is real truth. However when you find out for yourself that you have been mislead so these false teracher could profit from your innocence. When someone is defrauded by falsely promising "superavundance" let the believer be alert, it just is not so.

That phrase in 3 Jn 2 "As your soul prospers" refers to spiritual prosperity, not material wealth.

Alright, I will not be posting anymore. If you don't believe in prosperity its to your loss. God bless you.

Don't be offended and let it get in the way of you participating in the forum. What did you think of the scriptures I posted?

Prosperity was how a Jew measured his walk with God. We have a far greater treasure, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So, like the great Apsotle Paul, we would know how to be abased (poor and downtrodden) as well as know how to abound.
Having stuff is okay, but to most it is truly a snare. Following Christ for earthly riches is to have missed the true riches, for He looks upon the heart and its motivations.
Gen 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
