WORD OF THE DAY

Numbers 23:19: "

NIV- "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?,"

KJV- "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

GOD CAN BE TRUSTED

Dear God please illuminate the scriptures so that your WORD will be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Please remove any barriers to our understanding so that your WORD may it find good soil in our hearts and bear fruit unto everlasting life.

Is God lying to you? Is God lying to me? Is God lying to the whole world? This is a fair question to ask when we look at the lives of many who profess to be followers of Jesus. As Christians we profess to live by God's WORD which we call truth. Unfortunately the life we live can make others question if we truly believe God or if He is telling us the truth.

IS GOD LYING?

Is God lying to you when He says in says in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things(food, shelter, clothing) will be given to you as well."? Can God truly provide for your needs or is He too poor to make good on His promise? Is God unable to provide for His people because His paycheck is delayed? If so, who is the one who sends God His paycheck? Has God misappropriated His resources leaving Him in a state of lack by which He is unable to make good on a promise? Is God lying when He promises in Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,”? Is God powerful enough to come against all of our enemies or is our Savior too weak to save us? Does God run from danger in fear that one greater may overpower Him in a moment of battle? If so, who does God fear? Is God's WORD telling us the truth when it reads in Romans 8:18, "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."? Can anything truly make up for our pains and problems in this world to a degree that we deemed more than worth it? Is Heaven really that wonderful, glorious, and magnificent that this life will seem but a vapor as we spend eternity in His presence, or is God just telling us lies?

GOD CAN BE TRUSTED GOD TO PROVIDE

Brothers and sisters, saints and sinners, God is speaking the truth when He speaks in Matthew 6:33 saying "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." His riches are infinite and Phillipians 4:19 declares, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Sometimes we confuse the difference between a need and a want. Even so, David boldly proclaims in the 23rd Psalm, "The LORD is my Shepherd I shall not want." Though sometimes we go through times of perceived lack, these times in no way are representative of the idea that God has gone broke, or ran out of blessings to bestow upon His children. God tells us in Hebrews 13:5, "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." God is more than able to give us everything that we need to accomplish His Will. God will not send out His children to complete His work without providing what is needed. God can be trusted for He speaks the truth.

GOD CAN BE TRUSTED GOD TO PROTECT

Yes!! God is speaking the truth when He speaks in Isaiah 54:17 about protecting us. The creator of the universe does not hide His face in fear when trouble comes against us. The demons fear and tremble at the presence of our God, in Matthew 8:29 they shook in fear and ask Jesus, "What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?" Yes, even the demons who seem to have great power, run like little babies at the sight or at the name of wonderful name of Jesus. Though our tribulations seem to be without end, we can be encouraged as we see in Job 1:12 that God sets a boundary that even the devil cannot cross. Job 1:12 reads, "The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD." God allows hard times in our lives because He knows it will strengthen us, however; God will be with us and defeat our enemies if we only trust Him. Remembering the father who brought His demon possessed son to Jesus, the question is asked of Jesus' ability. Mark 9:22-23 reads "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us. "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes." Jesus' answer showed us that impotence of power on the part of Jesus was not an issue(God in omnipotent having all power), but a poverty of faith of the people would be the only barrier. God can be trusted for He speaks the truth.

GOD CAN BE TRUSTED IN HIS PLANS

Most definitely my friends, God is speaking the truth when He speaks in Romans 8:18 about the fact that the pain in this world is nothing compared to our reward to come. God tells us in Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." A time will come when all the pain and hurt and suffering will go away and the glory of God will shine fully upon us. Though not necessarily biblical or a quote from the Bible, one pastor once said that the reason God doesn't give us everything in this world is that this world is not big enough to contain all that God has for us. He reminds us that it takes all of eternity, forever and ever, and ever ever(Heaven), for us to truly get a chance to began to receive all that God has for us. This world of only 120 years or less of a lifespan in a fleshly sin stained body is not the environment that God chooses for us to dwell in forever. Only in paradise, as Jesus called Heaven( "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.") can we fully experience all that God has for us. Yes, in this world we can experience God's love, His peace, and His mercies that are renewed every morning. Yes in this sin stained world, we can share God's love with others and experience His power through the His indwelling Spirit. Yet in the world to come(Heaven), we will the recipients of much much much more than this world can provide, and it will take all of forever to receive all that God has for us. Now imagine that. God can be trusted for He speaks the truth.

GOD CAN BE TRUSTED

Beloved child of the most high God of Issac, Abraham, and Jacob, I tell you that God is perfect and does not lie or need to. Truly think about this my friend. As humans we lie because we want to either get something, escape an unfavorable situation, or because our character is flawed, however; God owns everything so lying to get something is not needed. God has all power and no one can box Him in, so there is never a need to lie to escape a situation. Finally God is love and has a pure Holy heart and hates sin, so lying is incompatible with His character and nature. God also know the past, present, and future and is omniscient, so He has all knowledge and therefore has no need to be in error. Man can, has, and will lie, but God on the other hand, cannot ,will not, and has not need to lie. Brothers and sisters in Christ, you can believe God at His WORD. Let us not only say that we believe God but live in such a way that all who see our lives will know that God is telling the truth because of the life of faith that we live.

Stay truly blessed, and may God's love radiate to you today, for your good and His glory. In the mighty name of Jesus in which we believe and put our trust. Amen.
