God Answers Prayer!
God answers prayer! "I know He's supposed to", you say, "but I haven't really seen any of my prayers answered lately!" Well, don't give up. Jesus told a story in Luke 18 to encourage His disciples to 'always pray and not give up.' It's the story of a desperate widow before an uncaring judge. Her plea is granted not because the judge is good, but due to her unwavering persistence. He finally breaks down and says, "This woman is driving me crazy. I'm going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!" Jesus goes on to explain how much more we can expect our perfect Heavenly Father to hear and answer our prayers.
The problem may simply be that we often give up way too soon. In Luke 11 Jesus declared, "Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for." God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah and said, "You will seek me and find me when you search with all your heart." James warned, "{doubters} should not expect to receive anything from the Lord." Maybe it's time for you to really plead your case with God. Are you seeking Him with ALL your heart? Have you used Scripture to build your faith and erase your doubts?
C'mon now and be persistent and don't give up! Remember this parable of the persistent widow. Recall the angel that was dispatched to answer Daniel's prayer the moment he prayed, even though intense spiritual warfare delayed him more than three weeks. How much more will our great God and Father rush to meet us where we are and answer our desperate cries for help! God is with us all...
