Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 NKJV
Someone once defined life as “one crisis after another.” Whether you agree with that probably depends on your own definition of the word crisis. But there’s no doubt that we all go through difficult times in this life. Jesus stated it well when He said, “In this world you will have trouble” (John 16:33). But we believers should feel grateful that Jesus followed His warning that we’ll have trouble in this life with this comforting promise: “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
One of the Bible’s most comforting themes is that God cares about us and for us. He knows about our struggles and He cares. Better yet, He strengthens us and encourages us—if only we’ll give Him all our cares and worries.
What worries you most in this life? Issues with your family? Your financial situation? Your health or the health of someone you love? Give it to God. Nothing is too small that He doesn’t care about it…or too bit for Him to handle.
Prayer: Father in heaven, I have so many worries and concerns weighing on me right now. Please humble me, and help me to leave these things to You. Thank You for caring for me—and for the things You’ve given me to do.
