God "will repay each person according to what they have done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. Romans 2:6-8

God was aware that His will, Word, and way would be manipulated contorted, and misapplied. He encouraged His people to handle His Word correctly and be workers who had His approval (2 Timothy 2:15).

Some choose to learn what God says and readjust their thinking to conform to what He wants. Some take a mental marker and blot out sections they don’t want to accept as truth. There’s reward for faithfulness and a reward for disbelief. They aren’t the same reward.

God didn’t hide His plan, conceal His will, or confuse His people. He offered generous helpings of truth and urged you to dig in, taste for yourself, and hold tight to the promise of being made a new creature (see 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Some stop short of accepting all truth and only look to God’s Word for personally comforting quotes. But Christianity is more than a spectator faith with all the benefits of the fully engaged. The pursuit of a part-time Gospel was described in 2 Timothy 4:3-4: “The time will come when they….will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.”

Keep pursuing the reward of the faithful.
