The Bible talks about God ordaining praise from the mouth of "Babes and Sucklings". It is not only praise that regularly allows to be put in the moyhs of these our wonderful children. God also puts Sermons, Prophesies, Healings and, at times, even Rebukes. All to perfect the lives of us His chosen ones.
I discovered this from the mouth of my little dauther. She is just five.
One night at home she just blurted out with a qustion that shook me. "Daddy, why do you always fight Mummy?" was the question that flew out of her moouth.
I was taken aback since I never for one day fought with her mother. So I asked her what she meant. "Why do you get angree with her?" came her next question. I aksed her again to explain.
"Each time we want to go out and Mummy does not do quick you alsways get angree with her" came her explanation.
It then dawned on me that my impatient tantrums thrown at my wife each time she delays when we have to go out on engagements or Church meetings were beign noticed by my little girl. She had been uncomfortable with these all these while until she spoke out.
To me, it was God that spoke through her and I have been praying ever since that God should help to be patiently tolerant of her. It is still a strugle but I know that by grace I will win.
Our wives are not to be talked to anyhow, no matter their failings. Afteral, the Bible says that love suffers long and is kind (I Cor. 13:4) and that we should threat them with honour and respect and never be bitter against them (Col. 3:19).
I pray that God will help me and other men as we fight this battle. May we hear the messages He puts in the innocent moths of our children. Amen.
