Friendly fire
Welcome to the cemetery for the fallen saints
Persecuted Christians are laid to rest here too
Might be surprised on how they died and by who
When we walk down the line looking at each tombstone
We’ll see that some have different lives, others not so different
Be surprised what they had in common with saints of biblical times
Everybody hears about the Christian that died for believing
Everybody hears about the Christian that was persecuted
They won’t be heard about here, that’s next cemetery down
This cemetery is for those that died of friendly fire
That’s right they weren’t killed by those that hated Christ
They were killed by Christians who said they loved Christ
The stoning of Stephen didn’t stop there, was just the beginning
Others died like Stephen because they were jealous of their wisdom
Think words don’t hurt, don’t kill that’s what Bill thought too
Remember the Samaritan parable where a man was beaten
The only difference in this case was the priest doing the beating
None stopped to help this time guess they were members of the church
When will we stop the friendly fire, saving souls isn’t a competition
When will we stop the friendly fire, lay down the pride the cost is too high
Will it matter if we send someone to hell because of confusion
Flash of light brings us to our knees Who are you Lord? We ask
I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, he replied now get up
Love your brothers and sisters like I told you to
Acts 6:5-11, 7:60
Luke 10:25
Acts 9:5-6
