Be Thankful And Become Happy

PSALM 107:1 NKJ
1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy
endures forever.

It seems the more people have the less thankful they become.
Today complaints are abundant, but thank you's are few.

COLOSSIANS 3:15 NKJ
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also
you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Being thankful is not a choice for a Christian. If it was
impossible, God would not have told us to do it.

So, why are people not thankful?

Gratitude is a mark of maturity. Ingratitude is a mark of
immaturity. Babies are never thankful.

Neither are proud people thankful. Why? Because their mindset
is that they deserve not just everything they have, but even
better. [Why be thankful for something less than what you
deserve?] describes their thinking.

A funny thing you will notice if you consider it: unthankful
people are never happy. In fact, the more thankful a person is,
the happier they are.

This is an example of how acting on God's Word is for our
benefit. God didn't invent commands just to be bossy.

You will never be bothered with depression if you act on the
Word of God and "be thankful." The cure for unhappiness is
being thankful. Try it.

But how can you overcome the bad habit of ingratitude? Only by
changing your core beliefs. As long as you believe you are
getting a raw deal, or less than you deserve, you will never
become a thankful person.

But if you realize that you deserved punishment and eternal
separation from God ,yet in His mercy instead Jesus gave you
what He deserved, and EVERYTHING you have , including every
breath you breathe , is a gift , then you will become a
thankful person.

Let's give thanks to the Lord for He is good, and His
mercy endures forever. :boy_hug: Mike

I completely agree with you. I want to say that the reason my Amen was so "loud" was because I myself had a very severe fight with depression. Last year when I was 29 I had a complete hysterectomy then 6 weeks later I ruptured an internal suture(sp). I was laid up for awhile I gained alot of weight. I had quit smoking also. So when I let things creep in (which I did ) I had many pity parties for myself and that fed my depression. Well the next thing I knew I was told I had a severe mental issue (besides depression -not saying that depression is severe)
Praise the Lord thru prayer and talking to brothers and sisters it is gone and when it tries to creep in I rebuke it!

God Bless you all ! Love your sister in Christ Bobbie

I have been sitting with a friend that has been struggling with depression for the last 6 months or more. She knows Jesus and praise God I can see she is pulling through. Thank you all for sharing. God bless you all.

I really appreciate what has been said in this post because i am currently dealing with depression. I've never felt so low in my life as i do now. However, I DO believe that the only thing that is keeping me right now IS my relationship with Christ. And I'm believing that he is using this time to stretch my faith and for me to become closer to him. Because i think i was getting TOO comfortable in my walk, therefore becoming somewhat stagnent. So right now, i'm thanking God for the storm and Praising him through the storm, and I know that he will deliver me from the storm and my testimony will be that of a great one!!!

PRAISE GOD!!

my passion is music, i love to sing, and it's always been my dream to be a singer, growing up i always saw myself singing r&b, but i sang in a gospel group when i was living in michigan, and i've been convicted and recently decided that i want to sing gospel music. But yeah, to answer your question. Music and singing is my passion!

Before i fell into this depression thing, my diet was horrible, lots of sugar and fast food. I never really could handle caffine, so i don't do the caffine thing. As for writing, i've been thinking about that. I want to, i really dont know why i haven't done so yet. But i think i'll get on that. Thank you!
