Imagine following Jesus when He walked the dusty roads in the land of Israel. You would have a personal perspective on everything He did and everything He said. But when Jesus was no longer physically with the disciples, did their memories of their time with Him fade with the passing of time? Did people find strength only when He was with them?
Being in Jesus’ presence changed most of the disciples for life. But today it can be a little harder to stay enthused about walking with a God you’ve never seen. God wants you to walk with Him, and that’s why He sent His Spirit to help you stay faithful, available, and unshakable.
Jesus didn’t come so His followers could live with a collection of fond memories. Jesus came to change their world. Today, He prepares people like you to tell His story to everyone and to every generation.
You’ve been given a job to do. Be found faithful when Jesus returns.
Prayer: Father, I’ve never seen You face-to-face, but I’ve met You through faith in Your Son. Your Spirit helps me. I’m made strong because of You. Help me make the choice today to follow You. May that be my choice until I take my last breath.
